HOW TO EDIT IN PHOTOSHOP
Basic Image Manipulation Techniques
1. Inserting images and resizing size/dimension of your
image.
2. Cropping out images using selection tools.
3. Changing or adding background colors.
4. Fixing and hiding imperfections.
5. Adding and editing text
6. Taking advantage layer opacity and arrangement.
7. Brightness and Contrast; Color Balance; applying Styles

Setting up Photoshop
1. Fix the Toolbar Panel

Setting Up the Workspace
1. Go to the FILE menu.
2. Click NEW FILE.
3. Set the size at exactly or higher than 1920 (width) x
1080 (height). The resolution can be 100 – 300 pi
(pixel/inch)
4. Click OK.

Inserting Images
(Option A) Open an Image.
1. In the FILE Menu, click OPEN.
2. Browse the location of the picture you want to open.
3. Click OPEN. This will open the image in a new tab.
4. Double-click the image to finalize.
5. Right-click the image layer, and click RASTERIZE
LAYER.

Inserting Images
(Option B) Drag & Drop.
1. Find the folder that contains the image you want to
use.
2. Click and drag the image into the PS workspace.
3. Press CTRL + A to select the whole image.
4. Then Copy the image (CTRL + C) and Paste it in
your workspace (CTRL + V).

Resizing Images
1. Make sure that the image layer is NOT LOCKED. Double
click the layer if it is.
2. Check the SHOW TRANSFORM CONTROLS.
3. Press V on your keyboard and CLICK the image.
4. Click the LOCK icon on the Properties Bar.
5. Click and hold one of the SQUARES at the corners of an
image.
6. DRAG it diagonally upward or downward to resize.
7. Click the CHECK icon on the Properties Bar, double-click the
image, or press ENTER to finalize it.

Selective Cropping of an Image
1. Select the SELECTION TOOL you want to use.
2. Select the parts you want to want to remove (Click or
click & Drag)
3. Press DELETE on your keyboard.
4. Press CTRL + D to deselect the selection.

TOOL.
Press E on your
keyboard to activate.

Click and Drag the areas you
want to erase.
Press the following to change
brush size.
[ = Minimize
] = Maximize
Changing/Adding Background
1. Remove the current background of the image. Make it
transparent.
2. Create a New Layer.
3. Drag the new layer BELOW the image file.
4. Select your FOREGROUND/BACKROUND COLOR.
5. Click the PAINT BUCKET or GRADIENT tool.
6. Choose your preference.
7. Apply it to the blank layer.

1. Change both the FOREGROUND & BACKGROUND
colors.

Using another Image as your Background
1. Open the Image or Click & Drag it into PS. Resize if
necessary.
2. Drag the NEW Image layer below the old one.
