How to embed a Flipgrid
Question into Moodle
Log into Flipgrid admin
1. Look for this screen in Flipgrid
admin.
Look for the share button.
Click on it to open a menu that looks
like this.
• By default, it will open to the URL option,
because this is what most people choose.
• You need to change it to..
This..
Click
• Now go to your Moodle site.
• Click at the top right of the page.
• Go back to the week of the unit where you will
add the Flipgrid.
• Click
You see a long list of options to add.
Scroll down the menu on the left till
you get to RESOURCES
Click on Label
Click the Add button at the bottom to
select.
Look for this button
This opens up an editing menu with all
available options
• It’s commonly known as the ‘kitchen sink’ by
computer nerds, because is has everything
you need for editing not found elsewhere.
Opened up, the kitchen sink looks like
this.
Look for this button.
Note:
• On my Moodle page, the Flipgrid video
question is already there, but yours won’t
have anything yet.
• This < > button is the ‘html code’ button.
• Click on it. There’s a picture of part of mine,
opened in next slide.
How to embed a Flipgrid question into Moodle
I can’t show you the full frame or save it as a
picture because it’s got ‘live’ code in it which does
weird things when you take a screenshot and try
to paste it into a PPT!
• Just paste the code you have already copied in
the Flipgrid ‘share’ page before.
• After you’ve done that, you’ll see 2 buttons at
the bottom of the window:
Update and Cancel. Click
You’ve done it!
• Now your Moodle label will show the actual
embedded Flipgrid.
Useful tip: Change the size of the embedded
Flipgrid window easily. Look for “width” and
“height” in the html code you just saved.
Ignore everything else.
• To get the code back, click on the < > button
again.
• Change the “width” and “height” numbers.
• The default is “width”=350 “height”=500
• You could try taking 100 off each one, so it
would be “width”=250 “height”=400
• Click to see the result.
• Before you know it, you’ll get a good idea of
what the numbers mean in terms of actual
size on the page. It’s quite fun adjusting the
numbers, till it looks just right.
• Click each time to see the result.
• When you’re happy with how it looks, go back
to the very top of your Moodle course page.
• Look for the button on the right.
Click it.
That’s it.
You’re done.
