This document provides instructions for generating, collecting, and uploading an On Command Unified Manager (OCUM) support diagnostics bundle. It describes running a supportbundle.bat file on a Windows-based OCUM installation to generate a zip file containing logs and other diagnostic information. It also provides steps for downloading the bundle using WinSCP and uploading it to NetApp support using FTP. The size of the bundle can range from 100 MB to over 8 GB depending on the environment being managed by OCUM.

If you have installed Unified Manager on Windows, you can generate this bundle through a
command line.
Steps
Log in with administrator privilege to Windows operating system on which you have installed
Unified Manager.
At the command line navigate to the <Application_install_directory> folder and run :
supportbundle.bat
The support bundle compiles support files and bundles those files into a zipped package. When
the process is finished, a message is displayed similar to the following:
Support bundle saved to C:ProgramDataNetAppOnCommandAppData
ocumsupportsupport_bundle_20150722_095835_324.7z
Either run it from the absolute path:
c:ProgramDataNetAppOnCommandAppData>supportbundle.bat
Or simply from here:
C:Windowssystem32>supportbundle.bat

- 1. How to generate, collect & upload OCUM support diagnostics bundle This is useful when troubleshooting On Command Unified Manager issues. NetApp support will request for this bundle in order to investigate the problem. This file is usually large, between 100 MB to 8 GB or more depending upon the size of the FAS environment OCUM is managing. Step-by-step guide How to generate OCUM support bundle Applicable to - vApp/OVA based OCUM installation 1. Open putty session to OCUM IP as shown below.
- 2. 2. Enter option '4' as shown below. 3. Then, select ‘1’ and press enter as shown below.
- 3. How to collect generated OCUM support bundle 1. Download WinSCP software if it’s not installed already; make sure the Host has access to OCUM IP address. 2. Open WinSCP and enter the details as shown below. 3. Once logged-in, you should see the bundles on the right under support folder, simply save it in the desired location as you wish.
- 4. How to upload OCUM support bundle to NetApp Support 1. On the host where the bundle is downloaded, go to command prompt and switch to ftp prompt. Commands are: C:>ftp C:>open ftp.netapp.com User = anonymous Pass = any valid email-ID ftp> cd to-ntap ftp> binary (to transfer files in binary mode) ftp> hash (to display hash marks while file downloads) ftp> put caseID.zip
