Yellowstone volcano is one of the most explosive, active silicic volcanic fields in the world and is
classified as a super volcano . Its Late Quaternary history, in terms of ages, sizes and frequency of
eruptions, has been well documented (Farrell et al., 2014). Understanding its properties will help us to
better understand the hazards it poses, both now and in the future. As it is protected from geothermal
energy or mineral exploration and development, Yellowstone provides a unique opportunity to
research an undisturbed major volcanic system and the temporal and spatial changes that occur
naturally (Hurwitz Lowenstern, 2014).
This report discusses the history of Yellowstone volcanic complex over the past 2.1 million years,
eruptive style, compositions, associated hazards and the structure of the magma chamber. In addition,
we look at areas into which research is currently occurring or should in the future, and discuss a
strategy for monitoring and forecasting of future activity.
History
Over the past 2.1 million years, three large eruptions with widespread effects have occurred in the
Yellowstone Plateau Volcanic Field (YPVF) (Hurwitz Lowenstern, 2014). The first of these was 2.059
± 0.004 Ma (Lanphere et al., 2002), and produced the 2450 km3 Huckleberry Ridge Tuff. The second

Abstract This is a new optimization algorithm which mimic the behavior of mosquito to find a hole in
mosquito net, if any. Both the flying and sliding motion of the mosquito have been modelled and
incorporated in the algorithm. The algorithm was tested for global minima on different type of
benchmark functions of various dimension and modality. Namely Gramacy Lee, Ackley, Rastrigin,
Rosenbrock, Griewank and Schwefel functions of one, two, five, ten and thirty dimensions. The
experiment was done with thirty different seeds generated randomly for each function and dimension.
The algorithm was found to be efficient, convergent and accurate.

This piece was made in a face to face art class, where one of my first projects was a to paint a piece
modeled after any work from an artist of my choice. Flowers are something I have always drawn or
painted, usually my go to, so this seemed like an obvious choice for me. Unfortunately, I am unable to
find the original painting I was examining for my project, but Van Gogh had many pieces under that

Hamlet and Laertes
William Shakespeare s Hamlet is one of his excellent tragedies which explores the difference between
themes such as love and revenge or the complexities of life and death. In Shakespeare s play, Hamlet
and Laertes show some comparisons and contrasts which give an abundance of interest to the play. In
fact, Hamlet and Laertes display impulsive reactions when angered; both have fathers killed, and both
are seeking revenge. Even so, both characters display a considerable likeness, which is trying to
