How to Manage Tasks and Projects using Trello

- 3. But before that, What is Trello? And how can the Trello app help in managing tasks and projects?
- 4. Trello is an online project management app. According to its website, Trello lets you work more collaboratively and get more doneโฆ
- 5. โฆ Trelloโs boards, lists, and cards enable you to organize and prioritize your projects in a fun, flexible and rewarding way.
- 6. In short, Trello is your digital โcork board" or โwhite boardโ where you can make checklists, assign tasks to team members, and update it as a project progressesโฆ
- 7. Trello gives you a bigger picture of the projectโs completion status. So letโs start with the Tutorial. Shall we?
- 9. Type trello.com in the address bar in your browser and hit Enter
- 10. This is Trelloโs home page
- 11. Click Sign Up โ Itโs Free
- 14. Go to your inbox and look for the Trello email
- 16. Your Trello Dashboard should look like this
- 18. From the Dashboard, click Create a new team
- 19. Enter the Name of the Team and Description, then click Create
- 20. This is the team pagesโ dashboard, where the Boards, Members, and Settings are shown
- 21. To edit, click Edit Team Profile
- 22. Edit the Name, Website, and Description, then click Save
- 23. To add team members, click Members
- 24. For team members with a Trello account, Search by name
- 25. Or click Add by Name or Email to invite the team member to Trello
- 26. To invite the team member to Trello, type in the email address
- 27. Add the Name and click Send They'll receive access to the team once they sign up and confirm their email address.
- 28. Or Invite them by giving them a special link
- 29. Once the invitation is accepted, the member will show on the list
- 30. Here, you can check the activity of each team member
- 31. The role of each member can also be set by clicking the dropdown
- 32. The team member can be set as an Admin or as a Normal member
- 33. The member can also be removed from the team anytime
- 35. Click Create New board
- 36. Type in the Title of your Board (this is your Project)
- 37. You can choose the Privacy Setting by clicking the Change link
- 38. Choose Private or Public
- 39. Click Create
- 40. We can now organize the projectsโ tasks by creating lists
- 42. Type the Name of your List and click Save
- 43. You can have as many lists as necessary
- 44. Click Add a Card
- 45. Type the Name of your card (this is the task) and click Add
- 46. You can have as many cards on each list as necessary
- 47. Each card has its own settings that you can edit
- 48. Click on a card
- 49. There are six (6) setting options for each card
- 51. Here you can name and color code the labels of each card
- 52. When youโre done, click Exit
- 54. Select which Team Member will be assigned to the task card
- 55. When a check mark is shown next to the team memberโs name
- 56. Click to Exit
- 57. Click Move
- 58. Here you can move the card to a different Board, List, or Position
- 59. To move the card to a different board, click Board, select from the dropdown, and click Move
- 60. To move the card to a different List, click List, select from the dropdown, and click Move
- 61. To change the position of the card, click Position, select from the dropdown, and click Move
- 62. To copy the card to a different Board, List or Position, click Copy
- 63. Select the Board, List and Position, and click Create Card
- 64. To Set a deadline for a card and task, click Change Due date
- 65. Set a Date and Time, click Save
- 66. To not set a deadline, click Remove
- 67. To Add more details, click on the card
- 68. Here you can add a detailed description of the task
- 69. You can add comments and feedbacks on the task
- 70. To add a Checklist for a card, click Checklist
- 71. Type the name of the Checklist, then click Add
- 72. Type each item in detail on the Checklist, then click Add
- 73. This is an example of a Checklist
- 74. When an item is ticked, it will show the % of completion
- 75. To add an attachment to a card, click Attachment
- 76. Click on the file location
- 77. Select the file you want to attach, then click Open
- 78. The attached files will now show on the card
- 79. To remove a card from the List, click Archive
