I’ve been wanting to write about how you can setup your
own email server for a long time now but was just too
lazy…lol
So today I am going to outline the entire thing for you so
that you can setup your own email servers and not worry
about GetResponse or Aweber Bans.
Also, I am going to show you how to send MILLIONS OF
EMAILS every single day, without breaking a sweat. Its
not that hard actually; and I am going to try and make this as
easy as possible for you.

What are Self Hosted Email
Servers?
1. Basically these are email servers that you have full control
over.
2. You can upload lists without verification,
3. You can delete subscribers,
4. You can choose your sender name & email
addresses,
5. And there are NO BANS!

So all in all, if you’re a big email guy, your databases are clean
and you have permission to mail the people on that database,
self hosted email servers may be a great thing for you.
I personally have had enough of GetResponse and
Aweber because of their bans and stupid reasons for the bans
so I am at 90% self hosted solution now. And I have a good
sized list

Disadvantages of a Self
Hosted Email Server:
• If you database is bad, your server IPs are going to be
blacklisted = NO INBOXING!
• If you’re just spamming, the way I teach you in this blog
post is not going to work =DON’T SPAM!

• It’s a little expensive than subscriber based systems like
Aweber & GetResponse. With Self hosted you pay per
email. But if you’re doing it right, you’re going to make
more than enough to cover the bills and make a healthy
profit.
• If you use Amazon SES or Mandrill (which I do) it
will be cheaper because there rates per email are
downright ridiculous. With other SMTPs, the rates vary.

Tools Needed To Go Self-
Hosted:
There are 2 parts to going self hosted with your emails. One
is the email client that you use to create and manage the
emails and the other is the SMTP server that you use to
send out the emails.

Email Clients Recommendations:
1. Mail Jeet – Desktop based Software & very affordable.
2. Sendy – Server based solution with nice interface.
3. Interspire – (most expensive) Long Time Player in
the email self hosted solution game, probably one of the best
in the market today.

SMTP Services Recommended:
1. Amazon SES – Avoid sending make money online offers
with SES.
2. Mandrill – Super cheap to send out emails, but make
sure your data is squeaky clean & always include
unsubscribe link.
3. SendGrid – Great delivery rates but a little expensive if
you want to send out millions of emails per month. But if
you’re sending highly relevant information only a few times
per month this is one of the best services on the planet.
I own and use all these services myself and I don’t
recommend anything that I don’t personally use on this blog.

Process:
Once you have these tools installed on your server you
just need to connect the 2 (Email Client & SMTP Servers).
Every email client comes with instructions on how to install it
on your server. MailJeet is a desktop client so it is easier to
install (Covering the installation is beyond the scope of this
blog post).
Sendy and Interspire are almost similar and take
approximately the same amount of effort to install.

Process Now:
• You install the email client on your server or desktop.
• You create an account with the SMTP
services mentioned above.
• You enter in the SMTP credentials in the email
client (connect the 2). Take a look at the screenshots
above.
• Send out emails.

FAQ:
Question: Where do I find the SMTP information?
Answer: That depends on the service you use. It is either going
to be under SETTINGS or there is going to be a seperate
option for SMTP CREDENTIALS (Mandrill & Amazon SES).

Question: Where do I put the SMTP Credentials in the Email
Tool I use?
Answer: In most of the tools, it is going to be under ‘Sending
Options’ or ‘Settings’. For the tools I recommend, check out
the screenshots above.
Question: Can you help me set things up?
Answer: Sure, to the upper right sidebar is a consultation call
button, you only get charged for the time you spend on the
phone with me. This is as close as you can get to 1 on 1
coaching with me. But instead of charging thousands of
dollars, I charge only a few dollars and I help you out with

Once you connect the SMTP and the Email Client, all
you have to do is create email and send.
Most of the tools again, come with instructions on how to
create campaigns and most of the time it is pretty self
explanatory so you won’t even have to use the manuals.

• You need 2 things to go self hosted : (a) an Email
Client to create and manage emails (b) an SMTP
solution to deliver emails.
• Install the Email client and get it up and running,
either on your desktop or your server.
• Register accounts with the SMTP servers and get
the SMTP credentials

Ninja Email Hack – How To
Guarantee Inboxing (Email
Delivery)
This is so basic that it grinds my gears that people don’t use
this often. All you really have to do is create a small test list &
before you send out email to your entire list you just test it
and see if it inboxes on your test list.
A test list has 1 gmail, 1 hotmail, 1 aol, 1 yahoo and 1
mail.com account.

That is it, create a list with 5 email addresses and send to this
test list first to see if it inboxes in all the major ESPs (email
service providers) and if it does, send it to the entire list.
If not change the elements in the email like sender email,
sender name, email links etc. and test it out until it inboxes.
This almost guarantees your email delivery to the inbox.
