- 2. What is the eCollection? The eCollection at the San Diego Public Library is an archive of eBooks, eAudiobooks, eVideos, as well as a search for articles of a wide range of subjects. The eCollection is never closed and the contents can be viewed on a personal computer of a portable device.

- 4. What do you need? A computer or device you can use to read eBooks. For example: A Windows or Mac computer with reading software (like Adobe Digital Editions) An eReader such as a NOOK and Kindle An Android, Chromebook, iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod touch), Windows 8, or Windows Phone 8 device with a reading app (like the OverDrive app).
- 5. Getting Started. From the San Diego Public Library click the eCOLLECTION tab
- 6. Getting into the eCollection To get to the Collection click on either the eBooks picture or the link Search OverDrive eBook Collection.
- 7. A new window will pop up. Do not worry, it is supposed to. It will look like this: Click the Continue button and if you would like to not see this disclaimer again check the box before clicking the continue button.
- 8. Selecting the type of literature Here on this page we can select the type of book we would like to borrow. (For this tutorial we are going to use Classic Literature.)

- 14. What is ODM? OverDrive's app uses ODM files to open and download audiobooks that you've borrowed from your library's digital collection. You need one of these versions of the OverDrive app to open this type of file: OverDrive for Windows OverDrive for Mac OverDrive for Android OverDrive for Chromebook OverDrive for iOS OverDrive for Windows Phone 8 OverDrive for Windows 8
