- 2. Squidoo is an online community who’s members build free mini-sites, on topics they’re interested in.
- 3. It’s free to join and to make sites (or lenses as they’re called at Squidoo).
- 4. A lens must start out with at least 3 modules.
- 5. Like any other blog, you must add to and develop your site or lens over time - So it's not perceived as spam...
- 6. Typically a lens starts with a guest book module, and 3 text modules.
- 7. The bio must also be filled in - it's best to use a bio-picture related to the theme and Key Words of your site.
- 8. Name the bio-image j-peg that you upload to your lens with your keyword phrase. Use the keyword phrase in the bio too.
- 9. The title for the lens is another place to use a keyword – use a long-tail keyword phrase as the description of the lens.
- 10. To fill in the text modules, use the unique articles you’ve written or Private Label Rights (PLR) articles you've edited.
- 11. Be sure a version of your KW is included as anchor text, in the first paragraph.
- 12. **Hint: You can break an article up between text modules, instead of using the whole article in one text module.
- 13. That will help meet the minimum amount of modules and get your lens approved and published quicker.
- 14. ** Also, you don’t want all your anchor text links pointing to the same page.
- 15. Have one point to the main page of your website, and the others link to other pages within the site: your product or review pages, perhaps?
- 16. Use a variation of the keyword in each text module, your list of keyword variations now comes in handy...
- 17. In the guestbook, you can change the title heading and work in the main KW phrase as well.
- 18. For example: Share Your Comments About ______ (keyword phrase)...
- 19. Those are some basics that will help you optimize the lens itself. Now for finding useful tags to add to the lens:
- 20. Simply look for and link to other top rated lenses in your category...
- 21. Remember, there's really no sense spending too much time on any one lens, if it takes away from time you need to write and publish more content.
- 22. Also Note - Squidoo has Adsense on their lenses, which may get clicks.
