The SAP BW Query Tool extracts data from: • SAP BW Queries • SAP BW Query Views Executing a SAP BW Query using the SAP BW Query Tool is like executing a SAP BW Query using SAP Business Explorer (SAP BEx). The key difference being that with the Tool you execute the Query from within Alteryx and the Tool extracts the output of the Query directly into Alteryx. PURPOSE © 2018 De Villiers Walton Limited Note: • The Tool does not extract data from SAP BusinessObjects. For this, you need to use the Alteryx Connector for SAP for BusinessObjects (ACS BOP).

- 6. To use the SAP BW Query Tool, you will need: • Alteryx • Alteryx Connector for SAP (ACS) installed on Alteryx • Access to an SAP BW system (incl. SAP BW/4HANA and SAP BW on HANA) • Authorisation to access and execute SAP BW Queries PREREQUISITES © 2018 De Villiers Walton Limited

- 8. Execute the following steps to select and execute a SAP BW Query: 1. Select the SAP BW Query Tool 2. Search for and select an SAP BW Query 3. Select Mandatory Variables for the selected SAP BW Query 4. Select Optional Characteristics/Attributes and Key Figures for the selected SAP BW Query (optional) 5. Add Filters to the SAP BW Query (optional) 6. - 9. • Drag the SAP BW Query Tool onto the Alteryx Workflow canvas. • Connect the SAP BW Query Tool to the SAP Logon Tool. STEP 1 – SELECT THE SAP BW QUERY TOOL © 2018 De Villiers Walton Limited

- 11. • Go to the Parameters tab of the SAP BW Query Tool. • Select Search Object, Query or View. • In the Query/View Name field, enter the Name or Technical Name of the BW Query or Query View. - 15. • The Parameters tab of the SAP BW Query Tool displays the selected SAP BW Query. • The Mandatory Variables of the selected SAP BW Query are automatically displayed in the Variables grid. - 16. • Select Low and High values for the Variables. • You can enter Low and High values manually or select them using the Search Help pop- up. • Click the Search Help pop-up icon to open the Search Help screen. - 17. • The Search Help screen will display the available values for the selected Variable. • Double-click on the required Variable value to select it. • The Low or High value for the Variable on the Parameters tab is populated with the selected value. - 19. • The Additional Settings button, on the Parameters tab allows you to add or remove the Characteristics and Attributes and Key Figures that will be displayed in the extract.
