How to write a resume

1. Analyze your skills, experience and qualifications.

2. Learn about the company and position you want to
   apply to so you can “adapt” your resume.

3. Write your objective statement.
    An objective statement is a paragraph that includes
    information like:
  • What are your qualifications
  • What kind of positions you seek
  • What are your professional goals
  • What kind of organization are you interested in
How to write a resume
4.Organize the sections of the resume
   • Decide which headings you are going to use and in what
    order, according to your strengths
  • Design the general format and structure

5. Decide what to write in the sections. Most common:
• Personal information: Full name, phone, cell phone, email.
• Education: Year completed, name of institution and the
 degree earned (starting from the most recent)
• Experience: name of the company, position, date,
 responsibilities, achievements
• Honors and activities: Extra curricular activities, awards,
 community services, university service positions, etc.
• Skills: Computer programs, use of machinery, languages.
