How The Financial System Has Continuously Since The First...
1 Introduction The financial system has continuously evolved since the first accord was written. The
financial crisis has brought light to how imperative it is to have a stringent but flexible set of accords.
Since the period of 1993 to 2008, there has been a 12 fold increase in total assets held by global
systematic important banks while only a seven fold increase in the capital funding of these assets.
Global systematic banks are banks whose distress or failure could lead to severe repercussions to the
overall financial market due to their size, complexity and the systemic interconnectedness. Coupled
with the increase in leverage there was also an erosion of the quality of the capital, throughout this
period. The market lost confidence in the banking institution, leading to a major contraction in
liquidity available. This transmitted throughout the rest of the economy and only with the help of a
public bailout were the damages curtailed. The globalization and interconnectedness of the financial
market has led to the phenomenal growth post WW2. However with commerce taking place over a
global scale, and the financial market connecting lenders and savers throughout the world there has
become an apparent need for oversight and regulation. The breakdown of the Bretton Wood exchange
rate in 1973, caused banks to lose substantial money through unsettled trades and foreign currency
losses in the Herstatt risk fiasco. This led to the central banks of the G10 countries to establish

How Successful Has the Welfare State Been in Delivering...
The majority of those who have a reasonably satisfactory understanding of the welfare state will agree
that the definition entails; a nation whereby the government undertake appropriate action to ensure the
provision of social goods and benefits. These welfare programs are usually provided at public expense
with little or no cost to the recipient of the services. Policy prescriptions advanced by proponents of
the welfare state emphasise securing a minimum standard of living for all of the population where no
one is denied an essential service which might be available to others. This includes the production of
social goods and services, the control of the business cycle and the manipulation of total output to
allow for social costs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order for the welfare state to be successful at delivering equality among the population the
preceding factors must first be achieved. In order for educational equality to be attempted, financial
barriers separating those who can afford educational fees and those who cannot must be minimised or
removed. If everyone is entitled to the same opportunity of education then, equality can be sought
after. This was apparent during the period 1974 1979, where it was recognised that a redistribution of
educational resources towards girls, women and minority groups as well as towards the working class
is required. Thus, aiming at giving everyone the same opportunity for an education. Contained in the
1998 Human Rights Act is an authoritative statement which is essential for the basis of equality. It
states that `no person shall be denied the right to education , although a rather basic statement, it
provides the basis for equality of opportunity which is essential since education is an investment on
behalf of the wider society. The 1944 Education Act contained the idea of delivering educational
opportunity to all those that may be concerned. Thus, the movement towards equality was evident and
ever becoming a reality. In its implementation, equality was seen as the removal of financial barriers
to different types of secondary education to permit selection based on ability and aptitude. Equality
amongst all was intended with

Midrash Definition
The Halakhah Judaism is not only a set of beliefs about God, the universe and man, but Judaism is a
comprehensive way of life. In Judaism there are rules and practices outlined for almost all day to day
activities and the manner in which Judaism believers must conduct themselves. These set of rules and
practices in Judaism are known as the Halakhah, which translated means to walk (Efron pg. 144).
However, in order for the Halakhah to emerge rabbis had to study the Torah and develop their own
ways of interpreting the Hebrew Bible known as midrash. Midrash is derived from a Hebrew root
meaning to seek or to investigate, midrash however is not an easy term to define (Efron pg 143). The
Midrash refers to a collection of rabbinic interpretations of the Bible and it also describes the approach
of interpretation reproduced in these collections. As the Midrash was created there became two
different forms rabbinic expression, which became known as the Halakah and Aggadah. ... Show more

By the time of the Babylonian Talmud, rabbinic sages had come to believe that the Torah revealed to
Moses had two forms, the written Torah and an oral Torah transmitted by the Sages (Efron et al. pg.

includes; legal debates, rulings, biblical interpretations, wise sayings of the sort collected in Pirkei
Avot and stories of the rabbis own exploits. The written Torah on the other hand consists of the five
books of Moses God gave to the Jews at Mt. Sinai. However, the rabbis felt that the oral Torah was
necessary, because from their perspective, the written Torah was insufficient by itself the rabbis
recognized that the written Torah contained too many gaps and interpretive difficulties to stand on its

Term Limit Analysis
Term Limits Needed The Supreme Court has been left without a majority vote and is dysfunctional.
The current fiasco that is happening in Washington with the court being weakened by other branches
of the government is an example of the Supreme Court being diminished by political battling.
Therefore, term limits are necessary because they would reduce political fighting, younger judges are
more in touch and terms will allow more diversity on the court. Term limits can affect political
feuding in a positive way minimizing political arguments. Since the Supreme Court job is a lifetime
job so when it comes to appointing a new judge the discussions go over the roof debating on whether
he or she should be a republican or democrat. Term limits will not only stable power between the
political parties but also allow new perspectives. In fact, in 2015 two thirds of Americans supported 10

Having variety in women and men with different ethnic backgrounds will help the view cases in a
better way. It matters that there s diversity on the court. I think it makes for better lawmaking, because
you have people with more diverse range of judgement and who are going to make a better decision
on the law ( Rachel Maddow 2014). A woman may relate to a case more than a man which is why
diversity is needed. For example, the Roe Vs. Wade trial on abortion that was all decided by men. It is
more likely that if the case had a women involved there would have been better understanding of the
situation. Term limits will have a major impact on the supreme court because they would decrease
political tense, younger judges are more mentally and physically in touch with current society and
terms will allow more diversity on the court. A sharper mentality will allow a better understanding as
well as diversity on the court. Not only will term limits control the power but will reduce political

Egypt And Mesopotamia
Architecture in Egypt and Mesopotamia When you think about ancient architecture, what questions
arise? Do you ask yourself about its history, durability, and structure? For example, Egypt is known
for its pyramids, while Mesopotamia is known for its temple. Both are influential and recognizable
after so many years and will continue to be for years to come, those questions come without a doubt to
mind. In the following paragraphs, these questions will be answered and explained in depth regarding
these two civilizations, Egypt and Mesopotamia.

Egyptians used sand and stones, whereas Mesopotamians used clay and mud. Egypt structures are
visited by tourists year around. However, the Meidum Pyramid did cease to last and collapsed because
it was resting on sand versus rocks. In which, the Mesopotamians mud brick technique was later
adapted by the Egyptians. Unfortunately, for Mesopotamia there is only one structure that still
remains, a few were reconstructed and others were just gathered from archeological evidence.
Historical evidence collected indicate climate change, affected the soil caused by mineral salt leading
to broken bricks. Another reason for the reconstruction was power domination by the Elamites, they
destroyed and rebuilt on the same location either being the same structure or ones similar to the
previous with modifications.
These two civilizations have brought the most memorable structures, considering the techniques used
and unique designs. Egypt will always be admired for the Great Pyramid of Giza, known as one of the
last original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World ( Mark, 2016 ). The great pyramid of Giza was
constructed as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu, including three chambers with two mortuary temples and

Causes And Effects Of Social Media
Causes and Effects of Social Media There is no denying that the expansions of the World Wide Web
and social media have skyrocketed in the last few years. It all started with the birth of MySpace for
Generation Z in 2003. It then happened again later in 2004, when Mark Zuckerburg created the most
commonly known and used Facebook, which then led to the launch of Twitter in 2006. Ultimately,
what all of this is saying, is that the effects of social media have impacted the lives of many since
2003. All of these social sites piggyback off of one another and it has created a nation that has become
dependent on the use of social media. People are using social media as a way to get their news, instead

mini blogging site, hence the reason that its users are limited to 140 characters per tweet. In 2009, it
was ranked as the top 3 social sites out of the ones mentioned and multiple more. As time progressed,
Instagram was released in 2010. Instagram is similar to Facebook because one is able to share
photographs, but that is Instagram s sole purpose. Instagram allows the users to upload photos, edit
those photos, and write captions to go along with them. Moving along, in 2011, a different form of
social media came out. The famous Snapchat that quickly escalated. Snapchat allows one to send and
receive snapchats that dissolve after 10 seconds or less. It began where one could only send pictures
and receive them, but then the creators attended the instant messaging part. The messages, much like
the pictures, are gone as soon as one is finished it with it. It is easy to see how quickly social media
progressed and in a very small time frame. The impact social media has made is very evident and it
has created a never ending list of possibilities because of this drastic expansion. Since social media
surfaced, it has created many new opportunities, whether it be for businesses or just keeping up to date

Jesus Is The Christ Of Jesus
We as Christians know that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus was born in Bethlehem during the reign of
Herod the Great, around 4 to 6 B.C. At the age of 30, he was baptized by John the Baptist in the
Jordan River. After this he began his ministry teaching about the kingdom of God and preforming
miracles. His life in recorded in the New Testament part of the bible and many movies have been
made about him, such as the 1977 classic, Jesus of Nazareth. In this movie, Jesus performs many
miracles including raising people from the dead. His actions show us how God treats people and how
he should be treated. Jesus resurrected Lazarus from the dead because Lazarus and his family had a
strong faith in God. After this Lazarus became one of Jesus closest friends. His faith resurrected him,
Jesus was just the catalyst. Jesus declared that the people who believed in him will die, yet they will
live. What I believe this means is that although people will physically die in this life, they will
continue to live with God forever in Heaven. When Jesus came to the temple, he lost his temper and
destroyed the market shops. He claimed that the temple was God s house and it should not be
corrupted with buying and gambling. It was a holy place and yet the people thought nothing about
defiling it. When the woman who was caught committing adultery was about to be stoned, Jesus said
to the men chasing her, the one who hasn t sinned shall throw the first stone. No one dared cast the

Friedrich Von s And The Revolutionary War
Friedrich Von Steuben
Friedrich Wilhelm August Heinrich Ferdinand Steuben, also known as Friedrich Von Steuben or Baron
Von Steuben, was born on September 17, 1730 in Magdeburg Fortress. There were many individuals
who were great historical figures during the Revolutionary War. Friedrich Von Steuben was one of
those influential figures. He was famous for being a Prussian officer, writing the Revolutionary War
Drill Manual, and his dedication to training the Continental Army. Just as his father did, Friedrich Von
Steuben was a prussian officer when he was only 17 years old. Friedrich Von Steuben s time as a
prussian officer was very eventful. In the May of 1756 the Seven Years War had began in Europe, and
Von Steuben had become a second lieutenant. Despite Baron Von Steuben being wounded and the
Prussian Army being outnumbered 2 to 1, the Prussian army still won the Battle of Prague. He served
as a principal staff officer and an adjutant to General Johann von Mayer during a special detached
corps in 1758. He was promoted to first lieutenant and was wounded at the Battle of Kunersdorf in
1759. Baron Von Steuben served as a staff officer in the position of a deputy quartermaster when he
was transferred to general headquarters. Soon after this he was taken as a prisoner when Major
General Von Knoblock surrendered at Treptow. After a year in prison he was released and promoted to
captain. His work was so credible he became an aide de camp to Frederick the Great. After this

History of the Propeller
The aircraft propeller looks like a simple mechanism to the uneducated individual. To the educated, an
aircraft propeller represents the highest sophistication in aerodynamics, mechanical engineering and
structural design. This report will touch on the history of the propeller, from early
pioneers/experiments, advancement during/after the war, all the way up to current applications of the
propeller.
The creation of the propeller can be traced back to Leonardo da Vinci. Da Vinci s helical screw
helicopter is believed to be the ancestor of the air propeller and the helicopter rotor. The first idea of a
propulsive airscrew, however, belongs to J.P. Paucton, a French mathematician. Paucton envisioned a

This dilemma made designing the propeller one of the Wright brothers most challenging problems.
Despite the lack of previous information to consult, the brothers were able to learn, through
investigation and trial/error, that large propeller diameters would produce high thrust for a given
power input. The brothers also determined that high torque produced by large, slow turning blades
adversely affected the flying qualities (p factor). On their first aircraft, they utilized 8 ½ ft propellers
installed behind the wind to minimize airflow disturbance, incorporated counter rotating propellers to
eliminate the problems associated with torque, and gained thrust efficiency by reducing the blades
rotational speed using a chain and sprocket transmission. The Wright brother s propeller was 66%
efficient which was much higher that any other propeller of the time. The foundations of a disciplined
approach to propeller design evolved soon thereafter. With the advancements and refinements made
by early inventors, engineers could use those test results to design propellers with better performance
and structural reliability. These advancements led to the development of the first generation of well
designed propellers. One of the first designs was the Integrale , developed by Lucien Chauviere, the
world s first industry standard propeller manufacturer. By 1910, the number of propeller producers
multiplied, and numerous

Communication And Its Effects On Employees s Perceptions...
Introduction
Communication and its effects on employee s perceptions towards organizational changes have been
extensively studied. Communication, if poorly managed, can lead to negative consequences including
employee s frustration, uncertainty, change contempt (Frahm Brown (2007), Bordia, Hunt, Paulsen
(2004)), psychological strain, low job satisfaction, and increase in turnover intention (Bordia, Hunt,
Paulsen (2004)). If effectively managed, communication can result in multiple positive effects such as
employee s positive perception towards change process, change acceptance (Frahm Brown (2007)),
perception of justice within the organization (Nese (2014)), and change based momentum (Jansen
(2004)). In this paper, I would like to explore how two communication approaches programmatic and
participatory can be used to improve employee s positive perceptions towards organizational changes.
The paper is divided into three sections. It starts with a summary of employee s perceptions towards
organizational changes. The effects of communication on employee s perceptions towards
organizational changes will follow. The last section is a comparison of the strengths and weaknesses
of programmatic and participatory approaches through the analysis of empirical studies.

Taking a Look at Pharmacists
Pharmacy is an essential part of modern day health care. Pharmacists today are well trained, highly
skilled and easily accessible to the public. However, pharmacy was not always as convenient and
advanced as it currently is today. Since the times of prehistoric man, pharmacy has evolved greatly
over the years and has become a safer, more efficient and more important part of society.
There are still many opinions about pharmacy s origin because many theories are based on logic and
analogies rather than concrete evidence. Much is known about prehistoric diseases due to the damage
of people s bodies found by archaeologists in ancient bones. However, finding evidence of early man
trying to use natural resources as medicinal drugs is scarce. Prehistoric man viewed the causes of
diseases as wraths from supernatural or spiritual beings. This caused our ancient ancestors to practice
a type of magic which used plants and often objects for rituals to make peace with evil and disease
causing spirits ( Kremers, 3).
The ancient people learned many things from instinct. Things like water, an herb or mud were most
likely man s first soothing applications. Trial and error helped man learn which substances brought the
best results and shared them with other people. The advanced profession of pharmacy most likely
evolved from simple and crude methods used by our ancient ancestors (A History 1).
The farthest date that pharmacy can be traced back to is about 4000 B.C. The Sumerian population

the loan to the company. Raising debt capital is less complicated because the company is not required

Class Struggle In Hamlet
Throughout history, class divisions have always been a big issue. Many works today display social
inequality; however, to realize it, one has to look through the right lens. Literary critical lenses help to
see a work from a different angle which leads to a better analysis of the composition. There are many
different lenses and aspects in literature, and one of them is the Marxist Theory. Also known as the
Conflict Theory, this idea claims that class struggle is a big divider in society. Although it is more of a
cultural idea, this concept also applies to literature. In his play Hamlet, William Shakespeare clearly
demonstrates the idea of class struggles; looking at this composition through the lens of the Marxist
Theory, one uncovers that the powerful ones suppress and manipulates the others in an attempt to
display their superiority. Class struggle is really obvious in Hamlet. The royals exploit and use the
lower class in order to achieve their goals. People from the working class obey the Aristocrats
commands and they do not have a big importance in their society. The Aristocrats notably Hamlet,
Claudius and even Gertrude oppress others in order to get what they want and show that they are
superior. Claudius kills his own brother and marries Gertrude in order to have a better chance to be
king since she is the the imperial jointress, to the throne; he does not love Gertrude; he is using her to

Character Relationships In Star Wars
Character relationships For stories that captivate the audiences, they need well developed plots with
characters who have interesting relationships with each other. The relationships of the characters really
drive the story because without the important relationships, there will not be a story. The three points
where it seems that the relationships the characters have are important to the story would be in Star
Wars, alien s relationships with humans, and in The Day After Tomorrow. There are many key
relationships characters share in Star Wars that without them, the story would actually not have been a
hit. Three of the relationships are Luke and Darth Vader, Luke and Han Solo, and Anakin and Obi
won. Luke and Darth Vader have an interesting relationship. Since Darth Vader is in fact Luke s father
but at the same time his enemy, it definitely draws the audience in to find out what happens next. It
also makes the final battle scene in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi high tension to see what will happen
when Luke finally faces his father. Another relationship that helps the story would be Luke and Han
Solo. This character relationship is about two friends. It is important to the story because Han Solo has
gone out of his way to make sure Luke is alive, such as when Luke was left out in the cold on Hoth. If
Han Solo did not have the urge to save his friend then there would be no story without the main
character. Also, Han Solo and Luke fight side by side to fight the galaxy and

In the summer of 1910 Northern Idaho and Western Montana were hit by what seemed like a never
ending series of destructive forest fires. With the spring bringing hardly any rainfall and drying winds
from the Columbia plains, creeks began to disappear and the montane forests became dry. Intense heat
along with high winds and dry vegetation create the perfect environment for forest fires. In June and
July several dry electric storms hit the mountains and fires began to develop in isolated corners of the

Henry Graves the chief of the Forest Service in 1910 believed that fire can be defeated and worked
with the state and private associations to fight fires by starting a fire protection campaign that would
eventually lead to the creation of Smokey Bear. He created the national forest policy for the United
States and in 1911 The Weeks Act was created which allowed the federal government to purchase
private lands and forests (Graves, 1919). In 1915 the Forest Service Research Branch was created in
order to find the best ways to manage national forests and to study the different trees and plants so that
reseeding and replanting of the forest could be done. Another important figure was Ranger Ed Pulaski
who is considered to be one of the heroes of the 1910 fires. Pulaski invented one of the most famous
firefighting tools that are still used today known as the Pulaski . The Pulaski is a tool that is both an
axe and a grub hoe and is a useful tool in fighting wildfires. The fires of 1910 set in motion numerous
improvements in the Forest Service and in large part allowed for the creation of the National Parks we
enjoy today. As the biggest wildfire in history It managed to burn its way through public indifference
and to emerge as what most conservationists consider a charred but positive landmark along the road
to forest protection (Peterson, 1995). The fires

Client Development On Their Company
I would like to acknowledge the client development on their company, which makes a granite cleaning

characteristics of the business that the expansion was required to be utilized, but there were still issues

on to family members or sell upon retirement. Advisors must ensure that business owners understand
the asset protection issues, tax advantages, and estate planning implications for the entity choice that
the client will choose (2014, p.42).
Before making the decision of the business entity, it is important that the client understands the
different aspect of each of the business entities. With this in mind, small business owners and their

The Importance Of European Imperialism In The Congo
Between the years 1884 1912, European powers were in competition to acquire African colonies. This
was the emergence of the new age of imperialism and what historians refer to as the scramble for
Africa. By the end of the 19th century, all of Africa with the exception of Liberia and Ethiopia was
divided amongst European powers. During that time, the Belgium government had no interest in
imperializing Africa except for their King, Leopold II. Due to lack of support from the Belgium
government, King Leopold independently gained private possession of the Congo. While King
Leopold embodied the ideas of imperialism, he did not effectively demonstrate the civilized mission,
but instead exploited workers in desperation to acquire imperial power. The atrocities committed
under his rule went unacknowledged for decades until the publication of reports exposed the atrocities
in the Congo. The widespread exposure King Leopold was a catalyst in his removal. King Leopold
claimed his interest in the Congo was motivated by the desire to extend the benefits of European
civilization to Africa. This ideology is referred to as the civilizing mission the belief that it is
Europeans duty and responsibility to bring forth civilization to non European nations. Leopold hoped
to achieve this by establishing trade relations for which the people of Belgium and the Congo could
benefit. The civilized mission was justification for European imperialism, and for this reason, he

Hamlet Film Analysis
Over the course of the past fifty years there have been many cinematic productions of Shakespeare s
Hamlet, some of which remain true to the text while others take greater liberties from the original
format. Director Kenneth Branagh s 1996 production of Hamlet was true to Shakespeare s work in that
the films dialogue was delivered word or word as it is presented in the text. In contrast, Franco
Zeffirelli conducted his 1990 production of Hamlet in a much more liberal direction in which lines,
scenes and characters were omitted from film. I argue that from the perspective of an individual with
moderate knowledge in Shakespearian literature, that the best film versions of Hamlet are those that
take the most liberties from the text. I concur that the following elements reflect the level of liberty
taken in regards to the text and that these elements determine which film is the best; changes to
dialogue, changes to plot, presence of theme portrayal of emotions and the setting.
In 1996 Kenneth Branagh starred as Hamlet in his self directed version of the play. Branagh s script
for the film was fiercely loyal to Shakespeare s original words which resulted in a four hour cinematic
experience. The immense amount of dialogue was delivered rapidly and added a layer of complexity
which effected the audience s ability to analyze and comprehend the story line. A lack of
understanding is problematic as it contributes to a loss of character development as well as confusion

2. Convertibility of Indian Rupee HISTORY
In 70 s and 80 s many countries switched over to the free convertibility of their currencies into foreign
exchange. By 1990, 70 countries of the world had introduced currency convertibility on current
account; another 10 countries joined them in 1991.
As a part of new economic reforms initiated in 1991, rupee was made partly convertible. From March
1992 under the Liberalized Exchange Rate Management scheme , in which 60% of all receipts on
current account (i.e. merchandise exports and invisible receipts) could be converted freely into rupees
at market determined exchange rate quoted by authorized dealers (AD), while 40% of them was to be
surrendered to Reserve Bank of India at the officially fixed exchange rate.
These 40% exchange receipts on current account was meant for meeting Government needs for
foreign exchange and for financing imports of essential commodities.
This partial convertibility of rupee on current account was adopted so that essential imports could be
made available at lower exchange rate to ensure that their prices do not rise much. Further, full
convertibility of rupees at that stage was considered to be risky in view of large deficit in balance of
payments on current account.
As even after partial convertibility of rupee, foreign exchange value of rupee remained stable. Full
convertibility on current account was announced in the budget 1993 94. From March 1993,

The Intellectual Property Rights Of The North American...
Introduction to the Intellectual Property Rights
In a general term, intellectual property is any person s human intellect, which is often protected by
law, in order to safeguard its use from another person. The possession of such kind of property
generates limited monopoly in the safeguarded property. Intellectual property can be subdivided into
copyrights, patents, trademark and trade secrets (Intellectual Property Rights, 2014).
The law protects the Intellectual Property so that the people who created and invented the property can
get appreciation and even in some cases monetary benefits from what they created. Every country has
different laws regarding the protection of intellectual property. There are even some treaties between

Still there is some difference between the Intellectual property law and the tangible property. Where
the right of exclusive possession is sole of the rights safeguarding the real and at the core of the bundle
of rights protecting real and personal property, things are different in the intellectual property (
Intellectual Property Rights, 2014). In the USA, the Congress gets the control to monitor patents and
copyright from the INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY clause of the Constitution. The Article I, Section 8
of the constitution says about it. The U.S. office of Patent and Trademark is authorized to regulate
federally registered patents and trademarks. Even though the patents are only regulated through
federal law, trademarks can also be governed through State law. Copyrights are particularly controlled
through federal law and have to be recorded through the U.S. Copyright Office (Intellectual Property
Rights, 2014).
United States Copyright law is regulated by the federal Copyright Act of 1976. The exclusive rights
can be seen in appendix A. The innovation recorded Works before 1978 currently has a copyright

Art Vs. Art Education
Art is defined as the expression or application of humans creative skills and imagination. Art is found
in almost everywhere in our day to day lives. Without peoples imagination and creative skills we
wouldn t have buildings, technology and entertainment. Creativity is a important subject in society, yet
the subject being taught in schools is on a decline. How can we live in such an advancing society
when our future generations are not learning how to use their imagination or how to apply their
creative skills? Although people argue that more class time needs to be put towards math and science
classes, art classes need to increase in our schools. Art has many benefits on the brain and Students
who have access to arts in or out of school tend to have better academic results, better workforce
opportunities, and more civic engagement (National Endowment for the Arts). Art education needs to
improve because it is a helpful stress reliever, important for childhood development and helps students
succeed in school and life. Many people underestimate the benefits of art on the brain. Art not only is
a great stress reliever, but it is also a tool used to clear your head and help tackle issues causing stress.
A study done by the University of Westminer found that taking a 30 min trip to a art museum can
significantly lower your stress level (Bergado). Observing art also sparks parts of the brain that are

A Writ Petition By People s Union For Civil Liberties Essay
A writ petition was filed by People s Union for Civil Liberties in the Apex Court on Right to Food.
The petition was filed when the food stocks in the country reached extraordinary levels on the other
hand the starvation in the areas which were affected by the drought was getting magnified. The
petition at first instance had Government of India, six State Governments and Food Corporation of
India were the respondent but later all the states were added since the matter reached at that level
where the hunger death became persistent in most of the states. Then considering the graveness of the
situation a PIL was filed, PUCL v. UOI and others, Writ Petition (Civil) 196 of 2001. The fundamental
argument in the petition was that the government is failing to provide the adequate food in the drought
situations even when there is a large quantity of food stock in the cold storages and also there is
negligence by the state since there is complete collapse in the services provided by the PDS and also
the relief fund is insufficient to deal with the drought situation. The relief requested from the Supreme
Court was a) that the employment be provided in the drought affected villages, b) a relief should be
given to the people who are unable to work, c) the PDS should be made efficient in the areas, d) the
families should be provided with the subsidized food grains and the grains should be provided by the

The Disaster Of A Earthquake
The year 2010 was an active year for earthquakes and other natural disasters, racking up a total of four
earthquakes ranked 7.0 or higher. Two of these quakes were merely a month apart, and started the year
in a very destructive way. The first was a 7.0 in Haiti, the second over 3,000 miles away in Chile, an
8.8. Though both ravaged their countries, one was decidedly more devastating than the other. Looking
at the magnitudes of the quakes, you might think Chile received the worst of it, but after further
inspection, you may not be so sure. While the magnitude of a quake can be a big factor in the
corresponding effects, the infrastructure of the affected area plays an even larger role in the number of
casualties and the amount of devastation that is experienced. This devastation is further increased in
coastal areas due to the high likelihood of tsunamis shadowing high magnitude quakes.
The evening of January 12, 2010 was met with tragedy as a powerful 7.0 earthquake rattled the coast
of Haiti. The epicenter of the quake sat close to the town of Léogâne, a mere 15 miles from the island
nation s capital. (brittanica.com) Many buildings collapsed or were severely damaged, including the

Technology can also help people with amnesia because on it you could write thing you had to do day

medications. As of right now there is not a medication for most of the amnesia s considering that there
are many amnesia s.But the person can be always be supported for example, the friend or family can

of your brain, some amnesia s happen because of concussions and concussions happen from hitting

Arrival And Departure Analysis
Arthur Koestler whom Karski had met used Karski as one of the sources for his 1943 novel, Arrival

There were photos in a file of the Foreign Office (only declassified in 1972) that had been smuggled
into England in early 1942. These images of dying children and corpses in ghettos were so horrifying
that archivists had attached a label to the file: Warning: some images may cause distress . In
September 1942, the officials of the Foreign Office called them horrific .(these were separate from the

Becoming A Successful Baseball Player
Playing baseball and soccer has been something that is ordinary. There is no nervousness or anxiety
about playing, because I have been playing my whole life. There is something that comes with this.
Some say that you must be born with it, but I believe that it is developed. That something is
confidence. I am confident in almost everything that I do. When I step onto the baseball diamond,
there is a certain attitude that goes with it. To be successful in baseball, you must be confident. You
must think that you are better than the other player that you are facing. The entire team must exude a
feeling that you are more prepared and better equipped to win. In the summer of 2016, my tournament
baseball team won the state championship for Texas.

Work Spouse Research Paper
What s a Work Spouse ?
It s that one person at work that you gravitate towards, to perhaps share a meme, or notify when there
s cake in the conference room. That one person you share an inside joke with via text during a
pointless 40 minute meeting. C mon you know what I mean... you re work spouse.
Now, it s cool when your single and it can develop into something. But what happens if you re already
taken; might your relationship with your work spouse give your significant other cause for concern?
No one wants to be cheated on: it s a ridiculing, heartbreaking, and energy draining to say the least.
Being deceived is painful and if you re not careful it can cause you to grow subsequently jaded about
both future partners and relationships. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the best interest of the couple as a unit becomes jeopardized. So paying for your work spouse s

  • 2. How The Financial System Has Continuously Since The First... 1 Introduction The financial system has continuously evolved since the first accord was written. The financial crisis has brought light to how imperative it is to have a stringent but flexible set of accords. Since the period of 1993 to 2008, there has been a 12 fold increase in total assets held by global systematic important banks while only a seven fold increase in the capital funding of these assets. Global systematic banks are banks whose distress or failure could lead to severe repercussions to the overall financial market due to their size, complexity and the systemic interconnectedness. Coupled with the increase in leverage there was also an erosion of the quality of the capital, throughout this period. The market lost confidence in the banking institution, leading to a major contraction in liquidity available. This transmitted throughout the rest of the economy and only with the help of a public bailout were the damages curtailed. The globalization and interconnectedness of the financial market has led to the phenomenal growth post WW2. However with commerce taking place over a global scale, and the financial market connecting lenders and savers throughout the world there has become an apparent need for oversight and regulation. The breakdown of the Bretton Wood exchange rate in 1973, caused banks to lose substantial money through unsettled trades and foreign currency losses in the Herstatt risk fiasco. This led to the central banks of the G10 countries to establish ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The majority of those who have a reasonably satisfactory understanding of the welfare state will agree that the definition entails; a nation whereby the government undertake appropriate action to ensure the provision of social goods and benefits. These welfare programs are usually provided at public expense with little or no cost to the recipient of the services. Policy prescriptions advanced by proponents of the welfare state emphasise securing a minimum standard of living for all of the population where no one is denied an essential service which might be available to others. This includes the production of social goods and services, the control of the business cycle and the manipulation of total output to allow for social costs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order for the welfare state to be successful at delivering equality among the population the preceding factors must first be achieved. In order for educational equality to be attempted, financial barriers separating those who can afford educational fees and those who cannot must be minimised or removed. If everyone is entitled to the same opportunity of education then, equality can be sought after. This was apparent during the period 1974 1979, where it was recognised that a redistribution of educational resources towards girls, women and minority groups as well as towards the working class is required. Thus, aiming at giving everyone the same opportunity for an education. Contained in the 1998 Human Rights Act is an authoritative statement which is essential for the basis of equality. It states that `no person shall be denied the right to education , although a rather basic statement, it provides the basis for equality of opportunity which is essential since education is an investment on behalf of the wider society. The 1944 Education Act contained the idea of delivering educational opportunity to all those that may be concerned. Thus, the movement towards equality was evident and ever becoming a reality. In its implementation, equality was seen as the removal of financial barriers to different types of secondary education to permit selection based on ability and aptitude. In Judaism there are rules and practices outlined for almost all day to day activities and the manner in which Judaism believers must conduct themselves. These set of rules and practices in Judaism are known as the Halakhah, which translated means to walk (Efron pg. 144). However, in order for the Halakhah to emerge rabbis had to study the Torah and develop their own ways of interpreting the Hebrew Bible known as midrash. Midrash is derived from a Hebrew root meaning to seek or to investigate, midrash however is not an easy term to define (Efron pg 143). The Midrash refers to a collection of rabbinic interpretations of the Bible and it also describes the approach of interpretation reproduced in these collections. The oral Torah includes; legal debates, rulings, biblical interpretations, wise sayings of the sort collected in Pirkei Avot and stories of the rabbis own exploits. The written Torah on the other hand consists of the five books of Moses God gave to the Jews at Mt. Sinai. The current fiasco that is happening in Washington with the court being weakened by other branches of the government is an example of the Supreme Court being diminished by political battling. Therefore, term limits are necessary because they would reduce political fighting, younger judges are more in touch and terms will allow more diversity on the court. Term limits can affect political feuding in a positive way minimizing political arguments. Since the Supreme Court job is a lifetime job so when it comes to appointing a new judge the discussions go over the roof debating on whether he or she should be a republican or democrat. I think it makes for better lawmaking, because you have people with more diverse range of judgement and who are going to make a better decision on the law ( Rachel Maddow 2014). A woman may relate to a case more than a man which is why diversity is needed. For example, the Roe Vs. Wade trial on abortion that was all decided by men. It is more likely that if the case had a women involved there would have been better understanding of the situation. Term limits will have a major impact on the supreme court because they would decrease political tense, younger judges are more mentally and physically in touch with current society and terms will allow more diversity on the court. • 9. Jesus Is The Christ Of Jesus We as Christians know that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus was born in Bethlehem during the reign of Herod the Great, around 4 to 6 B.C. At the age of 30, he was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. After this he began his ministry teaching about the kingdom of God and preforming miracles. His life in recorded in the New Testament part of the bible and many movies have been made about him, such as the 1977 classic, Jesus of Nazareth. In this movie, Jesus performs many miracles including raising people from the dead. His actions show us how God treats people and how he should be treated. Jesus resurrected Lazarus from the dead because Lazarus and his family had a strong faith in God. After this Lazarus became one of Jesus closest friends. His faith resurrected him, Jesus was just the catalyst. Jesus declared that the people who believed in him will die, yet they will live. What I believe this means is that although people will physically die in this life, they will continue to live with God forever in Heaven. When Jesus came to the temple, he lost his temper and destroyed the market shops. He claimed that the temple was God s house and it should not be corrupted with buying and gambling. It was a holy place and yet the people thought nothing about defiling it. Friedrich Von s And The Revolutionary War Friedrich Von Steuben Friedrich Wilhelm August Heinrich Ferdinand Steuben, also known as Friedrich Von Steuben or Baron Von Steuben, was born on September 17, 1730 in Magdeburg Fortress. There were many individuals who were great historical figures during the Revolutionary War. Friedrich Von Steuben was one of those influential figures. He was famous for being a Prussian officer, writing the Revolutionary War Drill Manual, and his dedication to training the Continental Army. Just as his father did, Friedrich Von Steuben was a prussian officer when he was only 17 years old. Friedrich Von Steuben s time as a prussian officer was very eventful. In the May of 1756 the Seven Years War had began in Europe, and Von Steuben had become a second lieutenant. Despite Baron Von Steuben being wounded and the Prussian Army being outnumbered 2 to 1, the Prussian army still won the Battle of Prague. To the educated, an aircraft propeller represents the highest sophistication in aerodynamics, mechanical engineering and structural design. This report will touch on the history of the propeller, from early pioneers/experiments, advancement during/after the war, all the way up to current applications of the propeller. The creation of the propeller can be traced back to Leonardo da Vinci. Da Vinci s helical screw helicopter is believed to be the ancestor of the air propeller and the helicopter rotor. This dilemma made designing the propeller one of the Wright brothers most challenging problems. Despite the lack of previous information to consult, the brothers were able to learn, through investigation and trial/error, that large propeller diameters would produce high thrust for a given power input. The brothers also determined that high torque produced by large, slow turning blades adversely affected the flying qualities (p factor). On their first aircraft, they utilized 8 ½ ft propellers installed behind the wind to minimize airflow disturbance, incorporated counter rotating propellers to eliminate the problems associated with torque, and gained thrust efficiency by reducing the blades rotational speed using a chain and sprocket transmission. The Wright brother s propeller was 66% efficient which was much higher that any other propeller of the time. The foundations of a disciplined approach to propeller design evolved soon thereafter. With the advancements and refinements made by early inventors, engineers could use those test results to design propellers with better performance and structural reliability. These advancements led to the development of the first generation of well designed propellers. One of the first designs was the Integrale , developed by Lucien Chauviere, the world s first industry standard propeller manufacturer. Communication, if poorly managed, can lead to negative consequences including employee s frustration, uncertainty, change contempt (Frahm Brown (2007), Bordia, Hunt, Paulsen (2004)), psychological strain, low job satisfaction, and increase in turnover intention (Bordia, Hunt, Paulsen (2004)). If effectively managed, communication can result in multiple positive effects such as employee s positive perception towards change process, change acceptance (Frahm Brown (2007)), perception of justice within the organization (Nese (2014)), and change based momentum (Jansen (2004)). In this paper, I would like to explore how two communication approaches programmatic and participatory can be used to improve employee s positive perceptions towards organizational changes. The paper is divided into three sections. It starts with a summary of employee s perceptions towards organizational changes. The effects of communication on employee s perceptions towards organizational changes will follow. The last section is a comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of programmatic and participatory approaches through the analysis of empirical studies. • 13. Taking a Look at Pharmacists Pharmacy is an essential part of modern day health care. Pharmacists today are well trained, highly skilled and easily accessible to the public. However, pharmacy was not always as convenient and advanced as it currently is today. Since the times of prehistoric man, pharmacy has evolved greatly over the years and has become a safer, more efficient and more important part of society. There are still many opinions about pharmacy s origin because many theories are based on logic and analogies rather than concrete evidence. Much is known about prehistoric diseases due to the damage of people s bodies found by archaeologists in ancient bones. However, finding evidence of early man trying to use natural resources as medicinal drugs is scarce. Prehistoric man viewed the causes of diseases as wraths from supernatural or spiritual beings. This caused our ancient ancestors to practice a type of magic which used plants and often objects for rituals to make peace with evil and disease causing spirits ( Kremers, 3). The ancient people learned many things from instinct. Things like water, an herb or mud were most likely man s first soothing applications. Trial and error helped man learn which substances brought the best results and shared them with other people. The advanced profession of pharmacy most likely evolved from simple and crude methods used by our ancient ancestors (A History 1). The farthest date that pharmacy can be traced back to is about 4000 B.C. The Sumerian population ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Class Struggle In Hamlet Throughout history, class divisions have always been a big issue. Many works today display social inequality; however, to realize it, one has to look through the right lens. Literary critical lenses help to see a work from a different angle which leads to a better analysis of the composition. There are many different lenses and aspects in literature, and one of them is the Marxist Theory. Also known as the Conflict Theory, this idea claims that class struggle is a big divider in society. Although it is more of a cultural idea, this concept also applies to literature. In his play Hamlet, William Shakespeare clearly demonstrates the idea of class struggles; looking at this composition through the lens of the Marxist Theory, one uncovers that the powerful ones suppress and manipulates the others in an attempt to display their superiority. Class struggle is really obvious in Hamlet. The royals exploit and use the lower class in order to achieve their goals. People from the working class obey the Aristocrats commands and they do not have a big importance in their society. The Aristocrats notably Hamlet, Claudius and even Gertrude oppress others in order to get what they want and show that they are superior. Claudius kills his own brother and marries Gertrude in order to have a better chance to be king since she is the the imperial jointress, to the throne; he does not love Gertrude; he is using her to get the power (I.ii.9). The relationships of the characters really drive the story because without the important relationships, there will not be a story. The three points where it seems that the relationships the characters have are important to the story would be in Star Wars, alien s relationships with humans, and in The Day After Tomorrow. There are many key relationships characters share in Star Wars that without them, the story would actually not have been a hit. Three of the relationships are Luke and Darth Vader, Luke and Han Solo, and Anakin and Obi won. Luke and Darth Vader have an interesting relationship. Since Darth Vader is in fact Luke s father but at the same time his enemy, it definitely draws the audience in to find out what happens next. It also makes the final battle scene in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi high tension to see what will happen when Luke finally faces his father. Another relationship that helps the story would be Luke and Han Solo. This character relationship is about two friends. It is important to the story because Han Solo has gone out of his way to make sure Luke is alive, such as when Luke was left out in the cold on Hoth. If Han Solo did not have the urge to save his friend then there would be no story without the main character. Also, Han Solo and Luke fight side by side to fight the galaxy and ... Western Montana Fires Final Report: The Fires of 1910: The Big Burn In the summer of 1910 Northern Idaho and Western Montana were hit by what seemed like a never ending series of destructive forest fires. This was the emergence of the new age of imperialism and what historians refer to as the scramble for Africa. By the end of the 19th century, all of Africa with the exception of Liberia and Ethiopia was divided amongst European powers. During that time, the Belgium government had no interest in imperializing Africa except for their King, Leopold II. Due to lack of support from the Belgium government, King Leopold independently gained private possession of the Congo. While King Leopold embodied the ideas of imperialism, he did not effectively demonstrate the civilized mission, but instead exploited workers in desperation to acquire imperial power. The atrocities committed under his rule went unacknowledged for decades until the publication of reports exposed the atrocities in the Congo. The widespread exposure King Leopold was a catalyst in his removal. King Leopold claimed his interest in the Congo was motivated by the desire to extend the benefits of European civilization to Africa. This ideology is referred to as the civilizing mission the belief that it is Europeans duty and responsibility to bring forth civilization to non European nations. Hamlet Film Analysis Over the course of the past fifty years there have been many cinematic productions of Shakespeare s Hamlet, some of which remain true to the text while others take greater liberties from the original format. Director Kenneth Branagh s 1996 production of Hamlet was true to Shakespeare s work in that the films dialogue was delivered word or word as it is presented in the text. In contrast, Franco Zeffirelli conducted his 1990 production of Hamlet in a much more liberal direction in which lines, scenes and characters were omitted from film. I argue that from the perspective of an individual with moderate knowledge in Shakespearian literature, that the best film versions of Hamlet are those that take the most liberties from the text. I concur that the following elements reflect the level of liberty taken in regards to the text and that these elements determine which film is the best; changes to dialogue, changes to plot, presence of theme portrayal of emotions and the setting. In 1996 Kenneth Branagh starred as Hamlet in his self directed version of the play. Branagh s script for the film was fiercely loyal to Shakespeare s original words which resulted in a four hour cinematic experience. The immense amount of dialogue was delivered rapidly and added a layer of complexity which effected the audience s ability to analyze and comprehend the story line. By 1990, 70 countries of the world had introduced currency convertibility on current account; another 10 countries joined them in 1991. As a part of new economic reforms initiated in 1991, rupee was made partly convertible. From March 1992 under the Liberalized Exchange Rate Management scheme , in which 60% of all receipts on current account (i.e. merchandise exports and invisible receipts) could be converted freely into rupees at market determined exchange rate quoted by authorized dealers (AD), while 40% of them was to be surrendered to Reserve Bank of India at the officially fixed exchange rate. Without peoples imagination and creative skills we wouldn t have buildings, technology and entertainment. Two of these quakes were merely a month apart, and started the year in a very destructive way. The first was a 7.0 in Haiti, the second over 3,000 miles away in Chile, an 8.8.
