6 Weeks
6
    At 6 weeks (42 days)
    the baby’s
    nose, ears, and mouth
    begin to develop.
    Also, the baby’s heart
    rate is 100-160 beats
    per minute, twice as
    fast as the parent.
    Intestines are
    producing and blood is
    flowing through the
    fetus’ body.
9

9 Weeks Nearly an inch long the fetus
              probably weighs about an
              ounce. The heart divides into
              four chambers and valves
start to form and plus tiny
              teeth. Baby’s organs and
              muscles are forming and
              coming into place. Eyes are
              fully formed but would not
              be open until 27 weeks.
13 Weeks
The Baby is now a
fetus, the eyes are
formed and are
fused together and
her arms and legs
begin to twitch and more. The baby is about the
size of an egg and weighs about .5-.8 ounces.
17 Weeks
The fetus reaches a length of about
15 cm (6 inches). A fine hair called
lanugo develops on the head. Fetal
skin is almost transparent. More muscle
tissue and bones have developed, and
the bones become harder. The fetus
makes active movements. Sex
prediction by obstetric ultrasonography
is almost 100% accurate. The main
development of external genitalia is
finished.
21 Weeks
The fetus reacts to loud
sounds. Baby starts having a
regular sleeping and waking
rhythm. The mother's
movements can wake her
baby. Taste buds are
forming on your baby's
tongue. The baby is 28cm
long (crown to heel) and
weighs over 450 grams. The
weekly weight gain has
increased to around 70
grams.
26 Weeks
The baby measures 14
inches long and weighs
over 1.7 pound. Baby
measures 35.5cm long
and weighs over 760
grams. The feet are 2
inches (5cm) long. Hands
are very active. The
baby's eyes begin to
open around this time.
30 Weeks
Baby measurements are 16 inches and
weighs about 3 pounds. Length is 40cm and
your baby's weight is 1.4 kilograms. The head
is almost 3.5 inches (8cm) in diameter. The
feet are nearly 2.5 inches (6cm) long. The
wrinkled skin is becoming smoother now. In
boys, the testicles have moved down to the
groin. The baby controls its own body
temperature.
33 Weeks
As your baby grows she/he becomes more
active. Also, if you talk to your baby, she/he can
hear you, her taste buds developed and the
baby can taste. The baby’s skin goes from red to
pink and preparing
herself for her life
outside the womb by
storing iron in her liver.
37 Weeks
Typically, baby now
measures 19.5 inches (50
cm) from the head to the
heel. Baby weighs up to 7
pounds or 3 kilograms.
The head diameter is over
3.5 inches (9cm). The
water could break at any
time. If it does happen,
see a doctor
immediately.
40 Weeks
You have now reached the time of delivery. All
systems are developed and ready to go. Now it is just
a matter of time. Baby is about 20 inches (51cm) and
weighs approximately 7.5 pounds (3.5 kg). The head
has a diameter of about 4 inches (10 cm). The
contractions could begin at any moment.
The End
