This course introduces students to yoga and meditation techniques through online lectures. The instructor is Amee Alexander and the course focuses on teaching basic meditation postures and breathing, the scientific effects of meditation on the brain and nervous system, and how daily practice can aid in stress management. Students will learn about meditation and yoga, comfortable sitting positions, using breath to calm the body and mind, and combining lessons into a daily routine. A yoga mat is required and students should bring water to class. Grades will be based on tests, quizzes, labs, and write-ups.
