This research paper explores the use of a hybrid genetic algorithm combined with simulated annealing to address the multi-trip vehicle routing problem with time windows (MT-VRPTW), which is an NP-hard optimization problem. The study demonstrates that certain combinations of the genetic and simulated annealing algorithms yield optimal fitness values for trip scheduling, specifically in the context of facilitating efficient tourist routes in Banyuwangi, Indonesia. Through computational experiments, the paper identifies that these hybrid models can provide significant improvements in finding better solutions compared to traditional approaches.
