- 2. PSMB Development in Australia • On May 10th 2011 the Aust. Govt. (Sen. Stephen Conroy) announced the Digital Dividend (700 MHz only) would go to public auction • In response to Police and Emerg’ Services sector concerns, a Steering Committee was established to oversee assessment of spectrum alternatives for Public Safety Mobile Broadband (PSMB) • Objectives; • National implementation plan to be agreed to by all jurisdictions • Possible allocation of spectrum from a portion of the 800 megahertz (MHz) band • Deploy an interoperable national mobile broadband capability for public safety agencies
