IBM has acquired Curam Software to help governments improve the efficiency and effectiveness of social programs through data analysis. Curam Software's platform is used by over 80 government agencies worldwide to determine the appropriate social programs for citizens and their families. The acquisition will allow IBM to extend its leadership in helping cities and governments serve citizens better through its Smarter Cities initiative. After the acquisition, Curam Software will be integrated into IBM's Software Group to enhance IBM's ability to help clients increase social and economic potential through managing social programs.
