Introduction
What is deployment?
● Series of actions undertaken to evaluate features of an artifact in the real world
● Depends on artifact and deployment setting
Deployment includes:
● Identifying features to be evaluated
● Identifying target population or users
● Providing access to artifact
● Collecting data on user experience
● Cleanup

Current Status: Data Collection [ 11 languages, 330 participants, 100 words per language ]

Theoretical - Involves conceptual frameworks and mathematical models
for understanding computation, algorithms and data structures.
Simulation - Mathematical and logical models that imitate and replicate of
real systems and real-world settings.
Laboratory - Performed in laboratory settings with high degree of control.
The aim is to manipulate desired variables and control others.

Deployments - Generally involves the combination of both software and
hardware
Real world experiments: Takes cues from lab study but conducted within
target environment, audience will use the artefact, usually short time
period
Real world deployments: Involve deploying an artefact in the target
environment over a period of time
