Editor's Notes

  • #2: Dublin Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology Tallaght, Institute of Technology Blanchardstown and Hibernia College, with the support of the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, are working together on a six-month project entitled An ePortfolio strategy to enhance student learning and assessment, and staff professional development. This project has been funded by the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund 2016 (Building Digital Capacity). As part of the project, Bernie Goldbach is presenting an ePortfolio Workshop on Wednesday, 23 March 2016 in DIT Aungier St. This slide deck supports his workshop. The photo on the opening slide is Dublin at night by @topgold.

  • #10: We’re inclined to use apps and are in the habit of looking for popular apps.
  • #11: The App Generation by Howard Gardner and Katie Davis, Yale University Press, 2013 ISBN-13: 978-0300199185 http://www.amazon.com/App-Generation-Gardner-Howard-ebook/dp/B00FOR57R0/tag=Topgold-20
  • #12: What do digital apps do to our sense of identity? How do they influence intimacy? How do they affect imagination?
  • #13: Branded through hashtags. As easy as a single tap. Connected with peers and befriended.
  • #14: We will search for hashtagged identities using sociometrics.
  • #15: High quality portfolios feature well-regarded icons and often enjoy community acclamation.
  • #16: Befriended ePortfolios cultivate strong social signals.
  • #17: Docs.com/Topgold shows a collection containing a Portfolio folder with the OneNote used to produce this workshop. ePortWords shows the co-authored Sway used to display screencaps of workshop Facebook groups and pages. ePortSocio shows the co-authored Powerpoint containing results of workshop hashtag research. ePortLinked shows screencaps of workshop LinkedIn profile views.
  • #18: This workshop is part of a day-long focus on ePortfolios as products.
  • #19: Workshop participants also discuss ways to ensure minimum snags occur when sharing online space in each of these areas.
  • #20: This eportfoliohub16 workshop is contained inside a shared OneNote.
