This document describes the development of an Android-based communication device for deaf, blind, and mute individuals. The device uses a Braille keyboard and text-to-speech/speech-to-text conversions to allow two-way communication between an impaired user and a normal person. It takes speech as input, converts it to text and then Braille. The impaired user can also provide Braille input, which is converted to text and then speech. This provides an accessible communication system using the sense of touch. The document also provides background on Braille, including the Braille alphabet and cell structure.
