InnoCentive acts as an intermediary between so called   “Seekers”  and  “Solvers” , in order to improve the Research & Development process. INNOCENTIVE = AN INTERMEDIARY InnoCentive Seeker = someone with a challenge Solver Solver = someone who creates a solution Solver $
INNOCENTIVE PRODUCTS InnoCentive not only proposes to approach R&D differently, it also teaches how to make the best use of this concept. InnoCentive focuses on R&D in a wide panel of disciplines. Open iNnovation Rapid Adoption Methods and Practice (ONRAMP) professional advices, training and tools to help  Seekers  make the best use of Open Innovation [email_address] a web platform with internal web-based collaborative communities of problem solvers Ideation aims to point out an idea or a methodology Theoretical aims to produce a theoretical proof to an idea E-Request For Proposal aims to find business partners or suppliers Reduction To Practice aims to bring a prototype to prove an idea 4 types of challenges
PROBLEMS INNOCENTIVE SOLVES FOR SEEKERS it reduces the costs of R&D (only success is paid) - it reduces the R&D timeline it provides access to outside brain force and creativity it helps check whether a solution exists it helps access the best solution it eases IP agreements it helps deal with Open Innovation potential it helps be aware of the types and states of the challenges faced by competitors, suppliers or partners SOLVERS it provides free access to a large panel of challenges - it provides the possibility to choose the challenges to work on it eases communication with other Solvers it helps access to financial awards  it helps meet international recognition PARTNERS it offers visibility of their interests for R&D and Open Innovation practices BUSINESS’ OWNERS The fact that this business happens online eases its management and increases its efficiency.
CUSTOMER GROUPS INNOCENTIVE SERVES This is a partition of InnoCentive customers looking at what motivates them to join InnoCentive. Another one could be made looking at the R&D areas these customers are interested in. Seekers = companies, organizations Seekers  who wish to be taught how to make the best use of Open Innovation for R&D Seekers  who wish to access a solution Seekers who wish to list the possible solutions Seekers  who wish to check that no solution is better than the one they already know Seekers  who wish to check whether a solution to their challenges exists Solvers People with knowledge or creativity, ready to brainstorm on challenges which involve those skills, although no compensation for dedication occurs except for the challenge’s winner(s)
REVENUE SOURCES IS IT SUSTAINABLE? Known ones:  fees paid by the Seekers to post challenges (in some cases) commissions paid by the Seekers on the amount awarded Supposed ones:  fees for consultancy services given to Seekers (?) fees for partnerships (?) $ Yes.  Companies, organizations and others will continue to meet challenges that need to be solve and this will encourage people with creativity and knowledge to brainstorm on those challenges.
