- 2. Question Type: True/ False/ Not Given What you are required to do You decide if the statement agrees with or contradicts the passage, or whether there is no information. The questions appear in the same order as the information in the text.

Action Plan: True/False/ Not Given Read the question (statement) carefully. - The questions will not be expressed in the same way (will not use same words/ phrases) as the relevant information in the reading passage. Underline / highlight the important words or phrases. Look for words in each statement to help you scan. Identify comparisons or qualifying expressions in the statements. Find your scan words in the text (passage)-SCAN Then read around them to locate the answers. Often you will find the same words, names or numbers in the passage. This is done to help you find the idea or information and get started in the right part of the passage.
- 4. Question Type: True/ False/ Not Given If the information in the reading passage has a similar meaning with the question (the information agrees with the statement) , then the answer is TRUE. If there is no information in the passage with a similar meaning to the words in the question, look for the opposite meaning. If you find this, the answer is FALSE. The answer is NOT GIVEN if only some of the information in the question is in the passage, but not all of it.
