- 6. Without pro- gramming, the SmartPLC can be used directly as a gateway for AS-i on the one side, and Profinet or EtherNet/IP on the other side. The integrated display and the convenient web interface display all the available status information for the user and support diagnos- tics in case of a fault. Operational system data can be recorded via AS-i, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP, UDP/IP or stored on the SD card or in the internal flash memory. If needed, the in- tegrated real-time clock provides a time stamp for each recorded data block. This simplifies the documentation and diagnostics of processes. A freely program- mable web visuali- sation based on HTML5 provides maximum transpa- rency. An internet browser with HTML5 capability is sufficient on the final unit (PC, tab- let, smartphone). No further soft- ware is required. Even the full gra- phic display of the SmartPLC is freely programmable for visualisation tasks. With the new ifm system solution apps, the process data of different sensors is transmit- ted to common fieldbus systems and their parame- ters are easily made accessible. These tailored apps can be loaded onto the SmartPLC without program- ming software. This makes your installation fit for Industry 4.0. Connect your sen- sors and EtherNet based devices to your fieldbus: the SmartPLC can be used as protocol converter between Profinet, Ether- Net/IP on the one side and AS-i, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP, TCP/IP, UDP/IP and IO-Link on the other side.
