- 4. Sequential control structure programs The program flow in high-level languages is sequential, i.e., it executes line-by-line from top to bottom. Each statement is executed only once. Such programs where statements are executed in a linear fashion are known as sequential control structure programs.
- 5. CONTROL STRUCTURES statements can be used within a program to execute decisions or to repeat actions. These actions may require the linear sequence of instructions in a program to be changed. Special constructs/statements are used to achieve these. These constructs/statements are conditional statements and iterative statements.
- 6. Sequence Sequence refers to a group of instructions executed one after another, without any condition checking or repetition. The programs discussed in the previous chapter are based on sequence control structure.
- 8. Selection The selection statement selects from two alternative routes depending upon whether the condition is true or false. Any non-zero and non-null values are treated as true and zero or null values are treated as false.
