                     Evaluation of teaching efficiency using ICT


Name: Sung Wai Fong
Students ID: s10470356


      Recently, there is a Watson’s advertisement which show the whole process of
distillation. I searched the video from youtube as well as the relevant information
from internet. I chose one particular website to illustrate the concepts of distillation.
Telling the students how to get purified water, which part is condenser, why we need
to boil water up to 105°C, what the function of each parts of the distillation
experiment set ups are, etc. And finally, required students to design their own
distillation experiment.

     After the end of the lesson, I think the overall performance of my teaching are
good with the help of distillation advertisement. From this lesson, it is no doubt that
ICT is helpful to students in learning. The reasons due to the fact that students are
familiar with TV programme of Watson’s advertisement. It gives them a great
impression when I used it in the lesson. The students are easy to catch up the concept
of distillation. Besides, the animation of distillation is eye catching, it helps to attract
students to pay attention in the lesson. I can replay to pause the video when some
students cannot follow my explanation of the concept.


   Apart from the use of video in youtube, I also added some students photos in my
PowerPoint. It made them feel fun and the topic is interesting during the lesson.


     On the whole, ICT is used in Science subject is necessary as it is quite easy to
use and save a lot of time for both teachers and students.
