This study reviews the impact of health informatics technology on the implementation of a Modified Early Warning Score (MEWS) across thirteen hospitals. It evaluates the effectiveness of electronic vital capture systems in identifying patients at risk of clinical deterioration and finds a correlation between MEWS utilization and improved patient outcomes, such as reduced cardiac arrest rates and length of stay. The study concludes that the MEWS is a valuable tool for risk management in patient care, despite some limitations in data capture and documentation.
