- 8. Installation Procedures • Pre-Installation – Name the server appropriately – Set the Administrator password and join a domain, if necessary – Assign proper static IP addresses • With the GUI 1. In Server Manager, use the Add Roles wizard • With Server Core – Type ocsetup Microsoft-Hyper-V at the command line and press ENTER – Click “Yes” to restart after installation (that’s right the “non-GUI” Server Core often uses the GUI to notify you of things ?@#!$)
