The Inca creation myth describes how existence was created by the god Con Tiqui Viracocha. He emerged from Lake Collasuyu and brought the first humans with him. Con Tiqui then created more humans from rocks and sent them out into the world. However, the newly created humans rebelled against Con Tiqui. In response, he punished them by withholding rain. Another god, Pachacamac, then came and drove Con Tiqui away, turning his people into monkeys. Pachacamac proceeded to create more humans to replace those of Con Tiqui.
