Scenario
You have been commissioned to produce a radio news programme for E6 Radio and have been charged with sourcing,
researching, writing, compiling and reading bulletins across the day.
You are to gather a team of no more than 3 people to produce a radio news programme for the audience of 16-19 year old
students. The programme should last for approximately 20 minutes.
Tasks Grading Criteria Mapping
Working as a group you will produce a news programme to a technical quality that reflects near-
professional standards, working independently to professional expectations
Task 1 research background material with suggested contacts, interviewees and follow-ups
Task 2 prepare draft treatments for each story for the news programme
Task 3 discuss and redraft treatments with tutor
Task 4 source and record interviewee(s)
Task 5 write and record copy, cues, voice pieces
Task 6 compile and edit each story.
** You must have news stories styles of a community, local, regional, and national interests**
** You news programme should have headlines, bulletins, copy only stories, voicers, with audio
clips and two-way (live and ‘as-live)**
On your blog you must have a post with the following pre-production and production
documentation.
 Production log.
 Interview questions.
 Scripts.
 All raw audio material.
 Final edited news programmes.
