Infinitives and Indirect Statement
- 2. Infinitives have six different forms. Up to now, we have talked about “the” infinitive, meaning the 2nd principal part. It is the most common, but not the only infinitive.
- 3. Infinitives can occur in the active and passive voice, and in three different tenses (present, perfect, and future)
- 4. Remember there are only six, so you’ll be able to learn these quickly and be done!

- 11. This is a “construction.” It is called indirect statement.
- 12. Indirect statements in English: She claims that you are guilty. I told you that he didn’t help. He felt that he had done a good job. My mother hoped that I would have a good day.
