This design proposal outlines plans for an urban music website to facilitate interaction between underground musicians and listeners. The website would allow musicians to share their music and receive feedback, and listeners to discover new artists. It would feature profiles of musicians, music videos, downloadable songs and mixes, charts of top artists, and a feedback section. User research was conducted through interviews with 5 people representing musicians, producers, and listeners. They expressed needs like searching for new music, streaming media, and positive community interactions. The main targets for the site are underground musicians and producers, with secondary targets being unfamiliar listeners. The goal is to introduce unknown artists to a wider audience through music sharing and feedback.

- 2. Main Goal -To make an urban mix-tape showcasing website that can facilitate the interaction between underground musicians and listeners. -To also make it easy for underground musicians to share their music/work, and to achieve the listeners’ feedbacks.

Musicians and listenersThe goal for this website is basically based on “interacting”, “responding”, and “advertising”.If the user demands all of these keywords, the design for the website would be in need of interface with social plug-ins, or interface that easily shows the rank and profiles of the main targets (musicians), including images and videos. interface that can be easily searched by users.

- 5. Target #1권오범 position: Rapper1. I would search mix tapes from abroad or even from Korea. I would also search for the release date of the musicians that I already know.2. I would prefer a streaming media player on the interface, but I think other advertisements are not in need for this website. 3. I would use this website for giving and taking feedbacks because I think it is important to share each other’s ideas for a musician.4. I like “Jungle Radio”, because they have positive interactions between all people on that site, but hiphople.com bothers me in order of extreme slander.
- 6. Target #1권오범 position: Rapper Other Ideas : I hope more of the mix-tape showcasing sites would be launched, because it’s hard for us to be recognized without advertising ourselves. Listeners would be able to listen to music without payments, and artists can introduce themselves to the world!
- 7. Target #2박모씨 position: music producer1. Simply, I would look for new released music for analyzing underground artists. 2. I think advertising this whole website and carrying artists’ profiles are pretty much every thing for need, but I don’t think other ads are going to help. Also, setting this website’s concept as the “wall of fame” rather than social blogs will be better(excluding amateur artists)3. As I said before, I would look up newly released mix-tapes.4. I don’t really not-like anything, but I would recommend hiphople.com, because they provide hot mix-tapes and news from abroad.

I think posting the number of people who visits the website is important, but I don’t think other ads are.3. I would probably look over underground artists’ profiles and data.4. I’m not really familiar with this kind of websites.

If the website is totally free, I would love streaming media players, but if it’s subscription-based, I would want a sample player. Also, I think having a social plug-in is really important. On the other hand, I wouldn’t think subscriptions would be necessary. 3. I would used this website to look over the top-ranking mix-tapes , and to share with other people.4. I’m not familiar with any of these websites.
- 10. Target #5이지현 position: listener1. I would look over some new songs that I’m not familiar with. 2. I think making the website well-known is the important way of achieving the goal as using the social network, but I don’t think letting users to socialize by themselves is necessary(as making another community for users only). 3. I would use this website to search for some new artists who are extremely talented but not well-known. 4. I’m not that familiar with these kind of sharing sites, but I guess I find Youtube quite similar.
