- 1. The Ateneo de Manila University’s Mission / Vision To preserve, extend, and communicate truth and apply it to human development and the preservation of the environment through teaching, research and service to the community.
- 2. “ Universities can contribute to development in several ways. They can undertake entrepreneurial activities that aim to improve regional or national economic and social performance. They can get involved with their communities, gaining direct knowledge about social needs, some of which could be addressed through R&D activities. They can conduct industrial R&D; create spin-off firms; participate in capital formation projects, such as technology parks and business incubator facilities; introduce entrepreneurial training and internships into their curricula; and encourage students to take research from the university to firms. Universities need to be transformed to play these roles. - 4. Mission The Ateneo Innovation Center shall nurture an innovation ecosystem that will catalyze and support R&D and the utilization of new technologies for human development and the environment. Specifically, the Center shall: Integrate innovation in science & technology into the training of our students, including skills for technology transfer and development of IP Identify and coordinate multi-disciplinary R&D activities in priority development areas along the critical path of what industry and society need Identify new techno-entrepreneurial opportunities and facilitate R&D collaboration and partnerships between the university and the international scientific & business community

Innovation center office is crucial to creating sustained R&D funding from external sources.
