In his first inquiry project, the author attempted to build a guitar pedal but it did not work. For his second project, he researched the proper components for building a pedal. He found a schematic for a distortion pedal and identified the necessary materials, including various resistors, capacitors, transistors, and a coupling transformer. While he was not able to build the pedal himself this time, he felt the research helped correct mistakes from his previous attempt and furthered his understanding of the scientific method.
