Applies To CentOS 6.3 64 Bit Step 1: Installation Type Choose the installation type (new install or upgrade). Step 2: Disk Test If you are installing from an ISO on a virtual machine you could choose option “skip”, to continue installation.

Step 8: Configure the network – hostname Enter the hostname to be set for the computer where you are installing the operating system. Choose “Configure Network” for network card configuration. s

Step 11: Configure Network Connections (IPV6) Step 12: Configure Time Zone Choose the region / City and select “System clock uses UTC”; UTC option is used to determine the offset between the local time and UTC on the system clock.

Note: The passphrase / password that you set is required to boot the system every time. Step 15: Partition Disks (LVM) Based on the previous installation type; you can customize it as well, to customize, click on reset and create partition accordingly.

Boot loader is the first program that run’s when you boot, which takes control to the OS Kernel, which in turn initializes the rest of the operating system. Choose the “Install boot loader on <device ID/ Disk Partition>” and click on “Next” button. Step 19: Package Group Selection Choose the packages to be installed along with OS installation process. You can install further later on by choosing the option “Customize later”. Also choose the additional repository for software installation.
