- 4. Wiki Tips Students can use different font colors to differentiate posts. To avoid accidental editing, provide very clear instructions. Instructors can pre-format a wiki page using tables, etc. Wikis are like webpages, students can post videos, images, embed links, etc.

- 6. Blogs An online journal meant for public viewing. Great place for students to express opinions and practice engaging with a public audience. You can choose to allow students to participate in blogs in three ways: Course Blogs Individual Blogs Group Blogs
- 7. Blog Ideas Have students post writing assignments in a blog. Rotate roles: authors, first readers, respondents, etc. Schedule blog posting dates throughout the course. Assign previous student blog posts as readings for the next course.
- 8. Collaboration Tools Discussion Blog Wiki What is it? Online discussion organized in a hierarchy of threads and responses. “Web log”—An ongoing journal or diary shared with the class. Collaborative web space where authors create one page. Uses Course discussion, supplement to class activities, class debate Instructor response to common questions, Reflections on a topic or course assignments. Group Research, Study Guides, Creative Writing Other info… Users can subscribe to a forum and receive updates. Students can rate other entries. Most commonly used collaboration tool. Individual to Students- Entries and grades are separate for each student. Course-All entries together and all students receive the same grade. Can only be updated by one student at a time. Only tool to collaborate within the same text entry.
