- 2. MelanomaMelanoma, typically malignant is a dangerous form of skin cancer. It is brought on by melanocytes which reside in the epidermis of human skin. It can be defined as a black tumor.Causes of MelanomaThe leading cause of Melanoma is said to be caused by excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun.
- 3. Children can inherit abnormal genes from their parents which make them more likely to get melanoma. These inherited genetic characteristics can include physical appearance such as pale skin.
- 4. Scientists have discovered a gene called the p16 gene that can cause malignant melanomas.Dermatitis Dermatitis simply means inflammation of the skin. It can be characterized by red, itchy skin, although acute attacks may result in crusty scales or blisters that ooze fluid.
- 5. There are five kinds of dermatitis, contact, nummular, atopic, seborrheicand stasis dermatitis. Dermatitis continued.Contact dermatitis typically causes a pink or red rash that itches. The leading cause for this is poison ivy and poison oak.
- 6. Nummular dermatitis consists of distinctive coin-shaped red plaques that are mostly found on the legs, hands, arms, and torso. Living in a hot environment or taking frequent hot showers can cause this.
- 7. Atopic dermatitis (eczema) causes the skin to itch, scale, swell, and sometimes blister. This normally runs in families and can be onset by stress, allergies and asthma.
- 8. Seborrheicdermatitis consists of greasy, yellowish, or reddish scaling on the scalp and other hairy areas.
- 9. Stasis dermatitis is caused by poor circulation and can happen to people with chronic leg swelling.XerodermaXeroderma is abnormally dry skin. Xeroderma can be caused by a deficiency of vitamin A, over exposure to sunlight, medication or a systemic illness.
- 10. Xeroderma can normally be addressed by over the counter topical prescriptions.OnychomycosisOnychomycosis is the abnormal condition of nail fungus. The body hosts a variety of bacteria and fungi. Some of these are useful to the body while others may multiply rapidly and form infections.
- 11. Prescription antifungal medicines taken by mouth may help clear the fungus in about 50% of patients.
