This document introduces interpreting models and discusses three types: socio-cultural models that reflect the historical evolution of interpreting as a profession, cognitive processing models that describe what occurs in the brain during interpreting, and task models that show how to approach interpreting work. It provides examples for each type, listing specific socio-cultural models like the helper and bilingual/bicultural models, cognitive models including the Colonomos and Gile Effort models, and task models such as the Gish and Demand-Control models. The document aims to help interpreters understand and analyze their work through visualization of interpreting models.
