Interview Script
Version 1.3
Segment: Restaurants
Hello,
We are conducting this interview for the course of Lean Entrepreneurship
Project. We are a group of 4 Católica Lisbon students developing a business
idea and therefore, our goal with this interview is to hear the perspectives of
potential customers. It will be a very interactive and relaxed conversation
regarding a topic that is of particular interest to us - meals and food offers. This
interview should take around 20 minutes. It would be extremely useful if you
could help us!
Part 1
Firstly, we would like to know a bit about you and your restaurant:
1.1. Do you have a smartphone? If yes, which operating system is it (I.E
Android or IOS)?
1.2. Do you use social media frequently (at least once a week)? If yes, what
type (facebook, Instagram, restaurant’s website…)? Do you have anyone
responsible for this?
Part 2
2.1. Do you have daily food promotions (for example, Prato do Dia or special
menu offers)?
2.2. Now, could you please select the three most important statements (last
page)
2.3. If you face such a problem - how do you try to solve it?
2.4. Is there an application/ platform you would like to have to solve this
problem?
Part 3
3.1. Is your restaurant present in a platform like Zomato? If yes, do you find it
useful?
3.2. Do you have a delivery system?
Part 4
We are thinking of developing a free app which would work like a “tinder for
food offers”. It would work in a very simple way showing you the special offers
of the day in the restaurants nearby you. In that way you can know about the
restaurants that are open near you, what are their offers for the day, get price
information as well as the tripadvisor rating of the restaurant.
4.1. How would you value such a solution?
(scale: 1-10)
4.2. What would be the main advantages of such a solution?
4.3. How willing would you be to upload food promotions in our app? (using an
sms service, email service, platform system…) (scale: 1-10)
4.4. What would be the main disadvantages of such a solution? What would you
do to improve it?
4.5. How much would you be willing to pay to use this app and how would you
like to pay for it? (freemium, bidding…)
I find it hard to
promote my
restaurant
My meals are not
publicized/known
enough
My daily
promotions
don’t have the
impact I wished
I need more
customers
I don’t have enough
personnel to
promote the
restaurant
frequently
I don’t like
using the social
media
I don’t have the
budget to
create the
awareness I
want
Crisis
Other restaurants
attract more
customers due to
lower prices or
better online
presence
