- 2. Innovative doctoral education for global food security – Joint development of internationalization and transferable skills
- 3. Long-term aims 1) to support the professional and institutional development of tertiary agricultural education, with focus on doctoral education, at universities/research organizations in Africa; and 2) to strengthen the process of internationalization of doctoral education at SLU.
- 4. Structure Part 1: Joint development of transferable skill courses for doctoral students and workshops for senior staff together with Makerere university. Part 2: Thematic subject courses connected to current research cooperation between SLU and African universities/research organizations. Part 3: Teachers exchanges with universities/organizations connected to the SLU Global themes

- 7. Added value • the first step in a step wise harmonization of academic traditions, guidelines, routines for doctoral education at Makerere University and SLU in order to promote future educational cooperation.
- 8. Part 2: Thematic subject courses Thematic subject courses that are integrated in ongoing collaborations between SLU research schools, capacity building programs or major research programs. Pedagogic consultants from the SLU Centre for educational development (UPC) will support during the course development.
