There are two main types of graphic file formats - bitmapped (raster) images which use a pixel grid and color depth, and vector images which are drawn using mathematical formulas. Common bitmapped formats include BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, and TIFF, while common vector formats include DXF and IGES. Graphics can be acquired through scanners, digital cameras, and digital video cameras and then edited and manipulated using paint programs, draw programs, photo editing software, CAD software, and 3D modeling software to enhance images. Multimedia combines different mediums like voice, pictures, and text for more effective information sharing, with interactivity allowing users to control the content.
