Raspberry Pi
• The Raspberry Pi is a low cost, credit-card sized computer that
plugs into a computer monitor or TV, and uses a standarad
keyboard and mouse.
History
• The Raspberry Pi is a series of small single-board
• computers developed in the United Kingdom by the Raspberry
Pi Foundation to promote the teaching of basic computer
science in schools and in developing countries.
Why Raspberry Pi?
• very low cost (Rs 1550/- for Model A and Rs 2200/- for Model
B/B+.
• great tool for learning programming, computers and concepts of
embedded Linux, etc.
• supports and runs free and open source Linux OS.
• consume less than 5W of power.
There are different versions of raspberry
pi available as listed below:
• Raspberry Pi 1 Model A
• Raspberry Pi 1 Model A+
• Raspberry Pi 1 Model B
• Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+
• Raspberry Pi 2 Model B
• Raspberry Pi 3 Model B

What is a Raspberry Pi zero W used for?
• The Raspberry Pi Zero W is ideal for making embedded Internet
of Things (IoT) projects.
• The Pi Zero W has been designed to be as flexible and
compact as possible with mini connectors and an unpopulated
40-pin GPIO, allowing you to use only what your project
requires.
Does Raspberry Pi zero W have WiFi?
• Raspberry Pi Zero W, which adds Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
How much RAM does a Raspberry Pi
zero W have?
• 512MB RAM
• The Raspberry Pi Zero and Raspberry Pi Zero W/WH are half
the size of a Model A+, with a 1GHz single-core CPU and
512MB RAM, and mini-HDMI and USB On-The-Go ports and a
camera connector.
• The Raspberry Pi Zero W also has integrated 802.11n wireless
LAN and Bluetooth 4.1.
How much power does a PI zero w use?
• Zero W requires about 20 mA
Technical Specifications
• 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN
• Bluetooth 4.1
• Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
• 1GHz, single-core CPU
• 512MB RAM
• Mini HDMI and USB On-The-Go ports
• Micro USB power
• HAT-compatible 40-pin header
• Composite video and reset headers
• CSI camera connector
