introduction of computer
A computer is a
multipurpose electronic
device which has high
processing speed. It has
large storage capacity.
They are used as tools in
every part of society
together with the
internet. Computers now
a days are complex;
there are a lot of
different component
inside them.
They all need to work together for the computer to
work; knowing how a computer works makes it easier to
use a computer by being ever to understand how a
computer will respond.

DESKTOP/PC :
-
A PC is a non-portable, general-purpose
computer, which can easily fit on a normal size
office table and is generally designed to be used by
one person at a time. In fact, PCs have change to
work culture and work habits of numerous
organizations and individuals. An increasing
proportion of office work now involves the use of
computers.
The most commonly used configuration of a system
consists of a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse. The
system unit, consists of the CPU, memory, disk
storage and ports for connecting a Printer.
Computer/Laptop:-
Laptop are
portable computers. A laptop
is a fill-featured computer,
whose use can be done
anywhere. Laptop computers
are approximately of the size
of an 81/2*11 inch and can
easily fit inside a briefcase.
They are also light in weight, weighing around 2kg .They
are also known as Notebook Computer. They also have
a hard disk, A floppy disk drive and a CD – ROM drives.
It can also perform all the functions that is performed by
Desktop , but it is slightly less powerful the desktop.
This is a pocket-sized
computing devices having a
display screen with touch input
or a miniature keyboard. It is
literally fits in palm, so these are
also called Palmtop computer.
Compared to full size computers,

Handheld/Palmtop :-
palmtops are severely limited but they are practically
for certain function such as phone books and calendars.
Palmtop that use a pen rather than a keyboard for input
are often called Personal Digital Assistants(PDAs).Most of
palm top do not have disk Derives.
Smartphone:-
Smartphone is a
mobile phone with
computing facility. That
means they also work as
handheld computer or
palmtop. The facility can
be a simple word
processing as well as
connection to internet.
Sometime a smart phone can run a
complete operating system software providing a
standardized. Interface and platform for application
development.
Tablet PC:-
It is a notebook
mobile computer usually
equipped with a touch
screen and can be operated
with digital pen or finger tip.
The term “Tablet PC” was
introduced by Microsoft.
“pen computer” is more
gerenral term for Tablet PC.
Tablet PC are available in following from:-
 Slates.
 Convertibles.
 Hybrid.
