ERP is a set of integrated business application,
or software which carry out common
business function such as general ledger,
accounting, production or management.
You can say, combines all database department
into a single database that can be accessed
by all authorities or employees.

 Software package (material, inventory and
production)
 1970s – MRP System
 Production schedule with materials management
 1980s – Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II)
 Adds Financial accounting system
 1990s – Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
 MRP II with graphical user interface, Supply chain,
relational database,software engineering tools in
development, client/server architecture, and open-
system portability

 Accounting : book keeping and create bills
are paid on time such as balance sheet,
general ledger, Account receivable, Account
payable.
 Human Resource (HR): maintains individual
employees information, salary details,
attendance, Employees performance and
promotion details, Administrator work.

Components of ERP
 Purchasing: this components is used for
purchasing the raw materials or necessary items.
It comparing vendors against various parameter
such as price, quality, bulk discounts and time
taken to receive the raw material. It is part of
Supply Chain Management(SCM).
 Inventory: The inventory management system
of the ERP software is very fruitful of the
companies. Inventory tracking feature Stock
keeping, revision level tracking and multi level
serial tracking . This feature optimize the
delivery process or distribution center.

 Customer Relationship Management(CRM):
 Any organization can not survival without customer.
Using this module of the ERP collect customer
information such as name, address, interest, email
id, contact number, age, gender etc.
 Sales and Marketing, commission, services,
customer care and so on.
Business Intelligence: In this module, data is the
raw materials. You can not survival in your industry
without knowing customer requirement and would
