This morning What Eventbrite is The benefits of Eventbrite How to get started How to make the most of it
What Eventbrite does
For me, second most useful free tool, after..
In the last 18 months We’ve run 62 events Had 800 attendees Currently running 17 events Attracted 8000 views And it’s not cost us a penny
Some benefits of Eventbrite It’s free to use if your events are free No need to be an IT guru to use it Professional web presence Manage bookings Print badges & delegate lists
More benefits of Eventbrite You can let people see who’s attending Includes a google map Easy to share on social media & your website You can send invitations & reminders
Sign up at www.eventbrite.co.uk
Create a new event
Step 1 – Add event title
Step 2 – Add ticket information
Tickets – basics Free tickets, paid-for, or donations – or a blend of all three Different types of tickets – eg early bird Need to say how many available Need to agree when they’re on sale ‘til
Tickets – advanced If charging – you’ll need to sort out payment options – Paypal (Business/Premier) & or Google Checkout People can pay with credit/debit cards You can offer off line payment Fees – decide who pays
Step 3 – Add event details
Event details Default font is quite small – consider a bigger font You can add links, images etc Personalise the link for your event – http://ourveryfirstevent.eventbrite.co.uk Popular event names will be taken
Add your logo Upload your logo from your computer Limit on size of file – you may need to save it as a smaller file
Step 4 – Add date and time There’s an option here for repeating events – eg a monthly network
Step 5 – Add venue Add your address details A google map is automatically generated
Step 6 – Who’s the host? Your organisation Some information about you
Step 7– Choose your colours
Step 8 – Privacy/Promotion options
Privacy/Promotion options Most likely to be a public event Choose categories, key search terms Or… keep it private – invitation only – eg for a members-only event
Save as draft/Publish/Preview Show attendees on registration page – let people know who’s coming! Then Preview and Publish – or Save for later Easy to unpublish/edit
Any questions so far?
Making the most of Eventbrite
Use social media to promote your event
Create and send email invitations Upload addresses (eg csv, Excel) Invite past attendees of events Or just type them in
Promote events on your website Widgets, buttons, sign up forms on your website Make it as easy as possible for people to sign up for your event
Keep in touch with attendees
Generate sales – and reward partners
And let’s not forget the day itself!
Any questions?
