Mission
● To further the adoption of Internet standards in
India
● To increase participation in IETF standards
activities
● To conduct capacity building programs in the
Indian networking community.
● The society will provide technical inputs in the
policy area.
Mission
● To provide a forum for computer networking
professionals, academicians, researchers,
network operators and programmers to discuss
technical issues in an Indian context
● To mentor people to take on IETF leadership
positions
● Be the nodal agency for organising IETF in India
Planned events
● Monthly Webinars - Take a specific topic of
interest to the community and conduct and online
seminar on the same
● Bootcamps – Half day / Full day instructor led
sessions on Internet protocols and IETF
processes + experience sharing
● Yearly event – Pre-Asian-IETF event in
November with Local and International speakers
to talk about hot topics of relevance to the IETF
and local Indian community
Past events
● Provide support to IIREF and ISOC fellows
through mentoring
● IIESoc Social dinners for IETF contributors from
India (starting from IETF 94, Yokohama to
upcoming IETF 99, Prague)
● RFCs We Love event in Bangalore – 2 bi-
monthly events to dicuss RFCs
● IIESoc Volunteers presented on IETF standards
in various IoT workshops
Connections – a Pre-IETF forum
● Pre-IETF conference to be held in Bangalore on
November 8-9, 2017 right before the IETF 100
in Singapore.
● Tracks on Application level protocols, SDN, IoT
and Security
● 1 day Conference + Lightning talks
● 1 day Hackathon/Tutorial on IETF standards

Advises governing council on strategic issues
and connects to various stakeholders.
