- 5. What is sound � Mechanical pressure waves that travel through physical medium are called waves. � Examples for physical mediums include air, water, bricks. � And cannot travel through the universe or vacuum. � Sound has the properties called frequency, speed, amplitude, duration, wave length

- 10. 2.What is pitch � Specific frequency of sound produced by vibrating object. � For example guitar or violin strings. � Musically a pitch is like the harmonic value of a note and it is said to be higher or lower than other pitches. � For Example G5 note has a higher pitch than the C5.

What is a note in music � A name given to a specific pitch (for example C, D, E, F,….. .) with a particular duration, loudness and quality. � If two notes have the same pitch even though the rhythmic values varies, then they are the same note. � For example if we press and hold the note C for 1 second and if we press and hold the same note for 2 seconds, we’ve played the same note.
