What is a project?
• Oxford Dictionary defines project as
• an individual or collaborative enterprise that is carefully
planned to achieve a particular aim.
• According to PMBOK 7th
Ed:
• A temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique
product, service, or result.
• The temporary nature of projects indicates a beginning
and an end to the project work or a phase of the project
work.
• Projects can stand alone or be part of a program or
portfolio.

subject to the following forms of monitoring and
evaluation, namely:—
• (a) monitoring of progress during implementation;

exceeding a threshold to be set by the Planning
Commission, an independent impact assessment
