Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework that provides multiple means of representation, action and expression, and engagement to account for learner variability. UDL is based on designing instruction from the start to be inclusive and accessible for all learners by providing options for perception, physical action, and engagement. UDL incorporates flexible materials and activities, technology use, and strategies to develop learner expertise and independence.
