One of the famous people in Iraq is Saddam Hussein. After
Saddam’s reign in Iraq during 1982,Iraq became
independent country. Iraq’s history dates back 5,000 years,
for that it is one of the richest archeological sites.
The banks of the Tigris and Euphrates River were home to
some of the first civilizations. The United States of America
demanded Iraq to surrender it’s WMD’s [ weapons of mass
destruction]. A war was beginning to blaze and lives were lost

Iraqis eat 3 meals a day .lunch in Iraq is called “Ghidda”
which includes stews, kebabs masgouf[ which is made of
grilled fish and veggies], breakfast for Iraqis is simple , it
consists of bread called “khubbz’’ , cheese, and tea. Kid’s
treats include cookies, chocolate, and baklara which is
made of flaky pastry, stuffed with nuts and honey.
Some of Iraq’s holidays are Eid-el - fitr, after the holy

- 2. Introduction: Iraq is a Country nestled In the Heart of the Middle East. The official name is the Republic of Iraq. It’s location is on the continent Asia. The capital city is Baghdad. The major languages spoken are Arabic, and Kurdish.
- 3. Geography: The major land forms are mountains, deserts and marshes. The major bodies of water are the Persian Gulf, and the Tigris and Euphrates, rivers. The water space is367 miles.(437,367 kilometers ) . The geographic coordinates are 3300 N, 4400E. The terrain is mostly plains, marshes, along the Iranian border, and flooded areas, and mountains border Iran and Turkey. The natural hazards dust and sand storms on top of that there are floods.

- 6. Economy Iraq is filled with oil fields that have attracted many businesses. There are also lots of crops in Iraq including wheat and the licorice plant. After the recent wars, the economy of Iraq went downwards at an alarming rate. Two of Iraq’s jobs are farming and business. Iraq is a wealthy middle eastern country because of it’s oil wealth.
- 7. Climate: Iraq does not have various season they are the wet and dry seasons. Iraq's average temperatures range to 480 degrees Centigrade 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Below is a graph of Iraq's climate and rainfall. The lowest temperatures are about 10 Celsius.
- 8. Interesting Facts: Some of Iraq’s native animals are the leopard gecko, the stiff tailed white duck, the striped hyenas, the jerboa, and the sacred ibis. The modes of transportation are cars, planes, and boats.
