This document presents a study analyzing a 4-story building frame using the software ETABS. A 16m x 16m building with 4m story height was modeled. Dead loads, live loads, and seismic loads were applied. Both 2D and 3D frame analysis was performed to investigate the effect of gravity and lateral loads on the base shear value. Graphs of the axial force diagram, axial loads in columns, base shear values, and vertical distribution of base shear to floors are presented. The final base shear value and distribution to floors is calculated and presented.
