The IRsens project focuses on developing an integrated sensing platform for gases and liquids in the near and mid-infrared range, aimed at applications such as gas monitoring and liquid detection in medical diagnostics and environmental analysis. The project employs advanced optical sensing techniques and collaborates with various industry partners to create sensitive, portable instruments for detecting small molecules like CO2 and cocaine in saliva. Key achievements include advancements in quantum cascade lasers and detectors, as well as validated key building blocks for mid-infrared liquid sensing.
